Anyone use BPS Excel ?

I've been using it for about 12 yrs now. Took a little hiatus for the last two years and used some Trilene and Stren. I honestly think the Excel has less memory and you can't beat the price. I bought three jumbo spools today of 6lb, 8lb and 10, still have some 12 and 20 leftover from two years ago........

I tried it once and went back to using Suffix.  Everyone has their own preference, and mine is Suffix Siege.  I just wish they sold it in bigger spools.

I've used it and really like it.  It's pretty manageable.  I think it's very good line for the price.  I like the big spool that it comes on.  It helps to get the line on the spool without twisting up too much.

You can't beat it for the money.  Not the strongest line on the market though.

I've used it for a couple years as well. I love the big spools and how cheap they are. For the money its the best you can buy. Low memory and doesn't get frayed easily. Sufix isn't too bad and i use that occasionally. But the majority of my line is bps excel.

I have a big spool of 14lb green Excel line that I use on my crankbait rod.  I don't have any issues with it.  It works great for a Mono.  I use fluorocarbon and braid on my other rods.

Last year I tried about every line on the market.  I came back to what I started on, BPS excel.  I use 8lb for shakey heads, 14lb for jigs and texas rigs, 17lb for spinnerbaits, 10llb and 12lb for cranks, and Power Pro braid for pitching in heavy cover.  BPS is a good line and would recommend to anyone.

I purchased a couple of baitcasting reels at BPS last year and they spooled both with Excel.  One with 10lb and the other with 15lb (I think).  The sales guy told me their line was exactly the same as Shakespears mono.  After fishing both reels for a day I took both of the lines off and respooled with P-Line Fluorloclear 15lb.  

I would not recommend Excel.  It just was bad stuff.  Maybe I got some old line but I have tried their XPS series and I liked it.  Not the greatest but good line.

I used Excel for over ten years.  Its advantage is a reasonably limp line and cost.  Its disadvantages is that is stretchy, not particularly abrasion resistant, and break strength per diameter is average at best.  Overall it is a decent line.  

In the past several years have switched to Original Stren even though it is considerably higher priced and is not as flexible as Excel.

Advantages of Original Stren are very good abrasion resistance and compared to most monofilament, copolymer and fluorocarbon lines has less stretch.  Its break strength per diameter is very good.
