The Cloner Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 This may seem like a simple question, but I must ask. Every reel comes with suggested line capacity, such as 8 lb to 14 lb, with said yards. The question is... Is that the only line weights that are suggested for that particular reel? Is it set up for those specific lbs, or is it just giving you options, so as to understand what yardig you would get with lighter or heavier lines? Confused and finally after being just lucky enough through the years or just instinctively good at catching fish... I'm starting to pay attention to the details, that cause others to be successful, and LEARN something new. Like matching Rods and reels, lines and lures, for different techniques. Quote

The Cloner Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Thanks for the quick answer. That is what I thought, but I have been wrong before. As far as Rods are concerned.... Those are suggested weights that the pole was designed to handle? Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 23, 2008 Super User Posted March 23, 2008 Yes. I will sometimes throw lighter and heavier baits like an 1/8 oz. either way. Quote
