Dirk_Jig---Lure Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 which buzzbait (not including mini ones) can you work the slowest? Quote
mattm Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Cavitron, but I have never fished the ones with multiple props. Quote
basspro48 Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I agree, you can work a Cavitron slower than any other buzzbait...but I don't use double-buzzers so I'm not sure about those. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted October 16, 2007 Super User Posted October 16, 2007 Cavitron, hands down no comparison. Quote
skillet Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 The 3 bladed Strike King is really slow. Can almost make it gurgle like a Jitter Bug (key word being almost ). Have never fished a Cavitron. Fixin' to remedy that. They are supposed to open a Dick's here real soon (next couple of weeks) and I think they carry them... As Ever, skillet Quote
Michael H Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 The slowest i have used is the terminators Skeet double buzz. Its got 2 huge props. Quote
HPBB Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 a double bladed buzz bait with counter rotating blades, you will not beleive how many cheep ones have blades that spin the same way Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted October 16, 2007 Super User Posted October 16, 2007 Strike king triple wing is prob the slowest. In fact I own two and cannot even try to burn it or even run a moderate speed.I t seems to roll over too easy when not worked at its slowest.Has a very subtle natural sound almost like somebody taking care of their bussiness after drinking too much coffee in the morning.LOL Do like Cavitron better though. It is extremely slow.Is loud but in a good way.Not obnoxious like some of the clacker types.Seems to get on plane faster than anything I ever used. Jake. Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 CAVITRON. Its slow, and the bass love it. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 For a traditional styled buzzbait, Cavitron. Mister Twister has a floating corkscrew styled buzzbait that can be worked slower than a Cavitron though. I have had moderate success on the mister twister buzzbait, but nothing to write home about. I think in the vast majority of cases, the Cavitron is the best buzzbait in any situation. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 16, 2007 Super User Posted October 16, 2007 Cavitron... ;D 8-) Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted October 16, 2007 Super User Posted October 16, 2007 The slowest i have used is the terminators Skeet double buzz. Its got 2 huge props. I will second that motion for slowest overall.... I will say that the Cavitron is the slowest single I have ever thrown. Wayne Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 16, 2007 Super User Posted October 16, 2007 Dirk, I make adjustment by bending the blades in more will slow the bait down, also by bending blades in or out, you control the noise and splash. On calmer days, bending the blades in more will make the bait quiter and slower. Obviously the opposite for bending out more. The less splash is because the bait rides higher but slow due to your speed. You can buzz that thing and get some serious splash, sputter, and noise. Just tinker with the bait and you'll see what it takes to get it where you want. matt Quote

smokin_joe Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 By miles, the cavitron is the slowest and most coveted buzz bait on the market...They used to make them with a clacker on them...I was glad to see they were back in business after taking 3years off from fishing tournaments. Too bad they dont make the ones with clackers anymore...It is my go to buzzer and made of the finest components...If you want the wally-mart far inferior product then the bleeding shad series with the holes in the blade is ok...Those striking king 3 balde jobbies don't cut it for me, the 2 forementioned products by far outfish any other buzzers I have owned , including a few of my own attempts at making a better buzzer...when the cavitron came a long I gave up Quote
rboat Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I believe the Cavitron is the slowest traditional buzzbait. The aforementioned one by mister twister and an old one made by Manns have the buzzer made out of foam so they are so slow you can stop them and they float. Quote
