I have a two questions.

I applogize if this has already been asked and ansewred. My first question is has anyone dealt with ebay-store poor fish store and has anyone bought a Citica or Curado from a ebay buy-it-now store and received the rebate. These guys have the Citca 100 DSV that I want for inshore trout for $86.99 plus shipping

Thanks

I believe the SHimano rebate does NOT apply to online auctions. You can buy Citicas from *** for $119 and get the $30 rebate to make the total cost $89. That's only $3 more and you are sure to get great customer service.

Thank,s

That's what I figured. I just wasn't sure about the so called ebay stores. I will probably go to Tackle Wharehouse. I going to check a local dealer tommorrow. He had some good deal's on his baitcasters. For some reason around here the spinning reels are more popular for inshore Red Drum and Trout.  I personally am getting where I do not like spinning reels except for UL applications for panfish.

The ebay stores sell them for $90 , it's the same price you'll end up paying in the store, but you'll have to wait a while for your rebate. Why not just spend the $90 now and not worry about getting your rebate...

That's how I see it.

I just ordered someone from Poor Fish yesterday. Haven't heard back so can't really let you know how his service is yet.

For whatever its worth, i picked up one of these Quantum Energys off of Ebay with the $50 rebate (for a total of $95). They sent me a completed rebate form with the reel, I sent it to Quantum and had a $50 check in 3 weeks..>For those interested:

I agree why pay more upfront when a few Ebay stores are selling for basically the total you will pay with the rebate without the 6-8 week wait. Some of these stores will even provide you with a store receipt (not an Ebay receipt) so you can send it in. Even if it doesnt work you still got the reel for the rebate price and if you do get the rebate you REALLY make out!! You got nothing to lose!!

If you are purchasing it from an ebay store and that store is an authorized Shimano dealer then the rebate DOES apply.

If you buy it from John Doe on ebay then the rebate does NOT apply.

The key words in the rebate form is AUTHORIZED SHIMANO RETAILER.

Bought a few Curados and Citicas from ebay stores and have already received my rebates.  As mentioned above, just make sure they're an authorized dealer.  I got mine from Simmons Sporting Goods.

Bought my Revo S from them. They are an Ebay store. Not an auction. They have an actual store in the  "real" world as well.

When they ship your reel they will give you a receipt for the MSRP price, and then on the bottom they will tell you what you actually paid. So you just take the top half of the receipt and send it in.

I would jump on it. They ship veyr fast as well.

Just curious to see if I'm looking in the right places for Simmons.  The Simmons Sporting Goods storefront on ebay generally shows products at MSRP.  Do you have to call to get the bargains?  Thanks

Simmons will also run auctions and sales on items, they generally list when the rebate applies, if your not sure they have a number for sales to call.

I have bought rods from them, including a Daiwa Steez and was very happy with their service.
