On a 7' a St.Croix 2S70MF med action custom build, $70 is what you would pay for the blank... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!! Quote
Boett43 Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 haha do you think it will even be possible it dosent have to that high quality of a brand... Quote
Super User .RM. Posted March 20, 2008 Super User Posted March 20, 2008 I don't think you understand what all goes into a rod build. You need to read some....DG Rod Works... Quote

Super User flechero Posted March 20, 2008 Super User Posted March 20, 2008 Boett, Just curious, what features are you looking for that you don't think you can get in a factory rod? Just FYI, the labor cost is usually about $100 for a basic custom... anything extra or pretty is priced a la carte on top of that. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted March 20, 2008 Super User Posted March 20, 2008 haha do you think it will even be possible it dosent have to that high quality of a brand... The rod I built for fourbizz had almost $250 in parts alone. If you gave a decent rod builder all the parts for free, he couldn't afford to build the rod for $70. JMHO Ronnie Quote
Boett43 Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 yeah i know it takes a ton of work i just always wanted a custom rod . but im sure i can find a factory rod that will fit what i need when i get 200$ ill be asking this ? again haha Quote

I was able to handle it and see it in action. OMG. Beautiful job on it!!!!! Quote
JKay Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 This won't fit your budget, but you could try looking at a G-Blanks rod. His rods start at $125. I've heard some good comments, but have never seen or held one myself. You'd have to do a little investigating to see if it's what you're looking for http://www.imaginationbassin.com/gblanks.htm Quote

SneakySnook Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 You should checkout http://dudleyrods.com/ when you get $200. He does great work and for about the same price as a regular st.croix or g-loomis rod. I got my custom g-loomis IMX 844 rod from him that I just love but I paid more for mine because I got fuji titanium guides. Check him out and he will work with you on what you want. Quote
