XbassmasterX Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 How much are you willing to spend? around 100-150 for the rod and about the same for a reel Quote
Bassnajr Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I went with several Dawai baitcasters. For the money, I find them great reels. ajr Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted March 20, 2008 Super User Posted March 20, 2008 I have a combo that I would be willing to sell you. A Shimano Curado 100D on a Shimano Crucial 6'10" MH rod. This is a great all-around setup. The rod and reel both look brand new. Quote
Bassnajr Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 xbasser, That's a great set up jp's offering up. If it was a lefty, I'd steal it off ya' Na....just kidding!!! bassnajr Quote
Shadcranker Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 For that price range, the Crucial rod is great. Only thing you may want to look into for the rod is if you have a Dick's SG in your area. A couple of months ago thy had St Croix Avids on sale for $99 (regular around $170). As far as the reel goes, the Citica by Shimano is nice, but you'll have several good options for $150. Actually, if the Shimano rebate deal is still going you could get a Curado for $150 after rebate, paired with the Crucial rod, that would be sweet. Quote
XbassmasterX Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 thanks for all the info guys and if Dicks SG has St. Croix Avids for only $99 I WILL GRAP A FEW in a heartbeat I gotta check it out when I decide I put up all the monster bass I catch on it ;D Quote
