Boett43 Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Im thinking about switching all my reels over to fluro except for a couple with braid..I want a fluro that isnt really loopy i have trilene 100% fluro and it seems really loopy what do you yall recommend? haha i know loopy probaly isnt the correct term but i didnt know what else to use haha Quote
Kodiak Zach Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I used 10-lb Vanish floro for 3 years and it wasn't very loopy. I recently switched to 8-lb Trilene floro and while it is a little loopier, the breaking strength seems to be 2x to 3x stronger than the Vanish was. Needless to say, I'll stick with Trilene. Quote

I'm not being a smart alec when I say that I've used wire leader for pike that was more supple than some of the fluorocarbon out there. Bone-up on the REAL STORY about fluorocarbon monofilament, not manufacturers claims or their sponsoned tourney pros. I think you might be shocked to learn about the true stretch-resistance of fluoro, it's true abrasion resistance and the true worth of refractive index. Roger Quote

Super User islandbass Posted March 19, 2008 Super User Posted March 19, 2008 Loopy? :-? x2. Do you mean limp? It might be just me, but I prefer a limp fc line for drop shotting. There is a whole gamut of fc line types. Some are supple and some are stiff and the choices are many. Quote
The Next KVD Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 P-Line Fluoro is AWESOME!!!! It handles just like mono but its a fluorocarbon! it doesn't tangle, has good knot strength, abrasion resistant, and is easy to cast! Spray KVD line conditioner or Real Magic while spooling and once or twice a day while on the water. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted March 20, 2008 Super User Posted March 20, 2008 My favorite so far is Trilene Profesional Fluorocarbon. It is the only one I have tried that has lived up to the hype. I have tried it on spinning gear and was the best fluoro yet bet still "loopy". The Trilene, IMHO, is the best bang for the buck. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted March 20, 2008 Super User Posted March 20, 2008 a picture is worth a 1000 words!!! Quote
