Davis Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_73517_100001001_100000000_100001000_100-1-1 Now I may end up using this and I may not. Depends how it feels. Like Alpster told me in a PM, it's pretty big and heavy for a bass reel. So in the end after rebate I will have payed 60 dollars for a 249.99 dollar reel. I'm happy. ;D EDIT: Must have been a mistake on there end. Link doesn't work anymore. My order is still up and processing though. Time will tell if they ship it. Quote
SimonSays Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 looks like it's out of stock =( or link doesn't work =/ Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 17, 2008 Super User Posted March 17, 2008 I cant view it either....Davis, PM Sent. Quote
Redsyn Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 for that price I'm sure they made a mistake and hopefully you made your purchase already if not you missed out. ;D Quote

Hopefully they will ship it. Still trying to decide if I want to make some money on this or keep the reel for 60 bucks after rebate. Choices....choices.... Quote
Redsyn Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Man you are lucky. I was trying to get a few but they realized it was a mistake. If it was me, I'd keep it. A $200 dollar reel for $60. Quote

I know....I know..... But making money sounds good as well. If it was a 200 size than I probably would keep it. Not sure what good the 300 can do to me. I was thinking about swimbaits but than I have to buy another rod/lures. So it will cost me more money in the long run anyway. :-/ Quote

Instead of costing you more money you can think of it as you bought the reel for retail+ rebate and got a swimbait rod for free. I'm just messing w/ you man. but if you dont have the funds for a rod now then save for it and get it later. Quote
Super User David P Posted March 17, 2008 Super User Posted March 17, 2008 If you want to throw some smaller swimbaits, keep it. If you have no plan on throwing anything big, sell it and make a pretty penny. Quote
0119 Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 That price makes me wonder if the rumors on tackletour.com, that the Curado line is being discontinued, might be true! This makes me nervous, like when my bank changes its name. Quote
Saladmander Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I've seen this on the BP website before. Not the Curado, but a rod (don't remember what it was.) The price was awesome, so I ordered the rod but never got it. The order was listed as processing for like a week. So, I called them to find out where the rod was, and they told me that the item was discontinued. Oh, I remember. It was their Signature series JM rod. It was listed for like $59. I remember thinking "Discontinued??" I gave them an earfull because no one tried to contact me to let me know that they weren't even sending out the rod or that it was disco. I personally think it was a mistake on a price that they didn't want to honor. Quote

I really want to know if you will get your reel. If not you have to call them and see what kind of excuses they give you. If they try and use the discontinue excuse tell them you can walk into any bps and they would have it in stock. Its not your fault they messed up you know. Quote

If you don't need it, I'd buy from you for $60. ;D It seems like it would be excellent for targetting musky and salmon. I've had a chum salmon spool my Curado 201D when it was at full capacity. I tipped my hat to the salmon and shed a tear, but it was the best and longest (22 min., I timed it) battle I ever had with a fish even though I lost. Quote
fooman Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 BP not showing any Curado's..only 300 combo's Quote
Davis Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 They shipped it. I'm in the money! Well not really. But a few extra bucks ain't to shabby. 8-) There is no way I will keep it. My 200d came in today and that's probably as large of a reel I would want to throw all day. Quote
