It's a smithwick Bo Jack.  Anywhere from $3 to $18 on Ebay.  I didn't find on in your color, or it's rarity... I don't know its age either..

Don't take it out of the package whatever you do.  The one on Ebay will be worth more due to it being older and in an older Smithwick box.  Good luck if you decide to list it.

There are a bunch of those at the Walmarts around here. I would guess its worth what the Walmart there is charging. I think they are $3.00  Not rare or old at all. How many of those baits for $15 dollars do you want? ;D

Where do you live?  My walmart doesn't carry any Smithwick stuff, and I've never seen a Smithwick crank.  I was assuming it is Balsa...I'd still pay more than $3 if it is Balsa and I can't buy one locally.  I've got a shallow crank fetish...

Just did some research and called my uncle.  I'll pay you $6 plus shipping for 10 or so Bo-jacks...that's 100% profit for you!  The bo-jack hasn't been made in years.  You must have an old school non-supercenter walmart that has some REALLY old stock.  I'm all over it...shoot me a PM. I'm excited...this is great!

They are in all stores here that carry the Pradco Boxes that have a bunch of mixed lures in the Pradco box. All the Walmarts here in the Atlanta area Supercenters. They must have started making the bait again or had a bunch of old stock at Pradco they decided to put in these boxes to get rid of them. I live within 30 minutes of about five different Walmart Super centers and they all had these baits as well as a local tackle shop. I will check out the Walmarts next time I go and see if they still have some. If you go to a Walmart check for the Pradco box with a bunch of mixed baits and start digging. You may find a bunch in there.

I have a few I bought from Wal-Mart awhile back......they are not Balsa, but plastic with an inserted lip.  Although I haven't spent a lot of time fishing them, they do have a pretty cool action and I think they'll be pretty effective.   I'm pretty sure they are reissues of some sort - I'm not sure how these differ from the original Bo-Jack that was produced in the 70's........you should check eBay if you want some of the really old ones.

Not balsa...I'm not game.  I've found some good deals in the Pradco Promo bins though...never seen a smithwick in there.  Shame on you Avid  :(...I'd have know pretty quick if they weren't vintage...similar to wiggle warts  ;).

I was simply asking if the Bo Jack was vintage...not implying that it was.  I had never seen one before and now it seems I am getting labeled as something negative.  And I hope that is not the case.  I simply posted about the lure, got some responses and even some price offers, but didn't ask any more.  Thank you for the original responses about what the lure was and the history/availability of it.

No BigBass not at all You got a lot of responses to your questions. How do you know if you don't ask? I certainly dont know a lot about lures and the only way to find out is to ask 8-)

Discontinued yes, vintage, no.  You definitely can get some good change for a vintage devils horse though. You're not going to let this go are you  ;)
