Looking for a 7'6-8ft flippin stick between $180-$250

Suggestions?

The loomis flippin sticks are a bit more then $250 but a possibility, Dobyns are $200, and Powells.

Looking for the lightest flippin stick I can afford.

Honestly, I'd have ReelMech price out one of the following blanks and see if he can build it for close to that price.

St. Croix 4C79HF (swim bait blank)  or  4C711HMF (big gulp blank)  or the new model 3C76MHMF If a St. Croix MH is enough rod for your taste.

The Big Gulp is only a 3.1 oz blank which is very light for such a long, heavy rod!

If he can't do it in your $ range - There is an awful lot of factory rod possibilities within a $250 budget.  You really ought to go to a big retailer and start narrowing the list down.

This is less than you want but maybe a 7'6'' h carrot stick this is the one i would get. I have held one (matt strykul's) and they are real light! Imo they should be  al ot more than 150 bucks. oh and they have like a 7'9'' h rod if you need something bigger ;)

I've heard mixed things about the guides on the carrot stix. How are the guides with braid? I'm going to be throwing 50-65lb braid on this rod..

It's probably going to double as a Frog rod just in the summer months.

This is just a suggestion not a recommendation but you might take a look at a Fenwick EliteTeck Flippin Stick.  I almost brought one home last weekend but I had my wife's small car.  I could not fit this 7'11'' monster rod in her matchbox so I came home with the 7'3'' riggin stick.

But if I was in my vehichle that big rod would have come home.  I really liked it but I am also very happy with rod I purchased.

Dude, I might look at that, I'm leaning towards an 8ft flippin stick, so this would be great!

How sensitive / light is it?

Love my Kistler Helium flippin stick and it's really light. ;)

I would check out the Rogue line of flippin sticks.  They have 2 different  7' 6" models and a 7' 11" model.   These rods are very very light and ultra sensitive.

The riggin stick I purchased is very sensitive but it's on the heavy side. The flippin stick is also heavy but not much heavier than most other rods.  It also comes with a weight balancing system.  Another plus is that there is a reabate for $50 if you buy any Fenwick or All Star rod and a Revo.

I can answer that for you after the Guntersville trip, if you like.

I have the 7'6" H and I will be throwing braid and Pline on it for different applications.

A great muti-use rod is the St. Croix Avid AC73MHF. I use this rod for Flip/Pitch, C-rigs, swimbaits and frogging. St. Croix rods tend to have more backbone than many other rod brands so I find the MHF powerful enough for Flip/Pitching.

Its a little over $250 but if you're looking for a superlight, superstrong flippin' stick, the Kistler Helium LTA 7'6" XH is the one I use. It's "action" is equivalent to a pool stick but getting fish out of heavy cover is NOT and WILL NOT ever be a problem. And did I mention its very, very light?
