bassin_man Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Looking at getting another combo setup. Can't decide and here is what I have so far. Spinning Crucial7'2"/Stradic ---Dropshot/shakey head A couple other older setups for odds and ends. Casting Crucial 7' m/Curado ---Cranks Crucial 7' mh/citica ---Spinnerbaits Cumara 7' mh/curado ---jigs, texas rigs, etc 6'6" flw series/citica ---topwater I was thinking about getting another Cumara setup mainly a 7'2"x-mh but not sure if that is needed. I fish some timber, brush, and grass but nothing thats majority thick. That and I think the regular mh might even handle that fine. Also thinking maybe a 7' mh for deep cranks? That way I could always have a crank tied on one rod and a jerkbait on another. Has anyone ever used a Crucial m or mh crank rod for jerkbaits? How did they work? Quote
alger319 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 what about a fluke or senko/ weightless worm setup. or maybe another crankin setup for lipless cranks.. Quote
Josey Wales Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 X2 I have a 7'4 G-loomis Bronzeback paired with a 2500 stradic for senkos, and tube skipping. I really like the Bronzeback rods. It looks like you already have a crankin setup, so that is what I would suggest. Quote
bassin_man Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 Keep the suggestions coming. Looking to have my mind made up by the end of the weekend. Quote
Chad. Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 A daiwa exist steez spinning and a megabass destroyer 68x with a bridged butt ;D for senkos and t-rigs Quote
djmax22 Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Couple ideas. 1. Like other have said get a weightless worm, tube rod rod. 2. Get a big crank setup exclusively for deep divers (DD22, Fat Free Shad, and Manns 20+). I would opt for 7'6'' MH rod (even heavy). This rod can double for ripping lipless cranks through grass. 3. Carolina rig rod. something around 7'3" 4. Depending on how much you fish jigs you might want a pitchin stick. 7'6" Hvy 5. Treat yourself to a GLX BCR854. Just a few ideas now it is up to you. Quote
bassin_man Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 Right now I'm leaning towards either a weightless worm rod, a big crank rod, or a Carolina rig rod. Its going to be a tough choice. I'm leaning more towards the weightless worm or crank rod then the Carolina rig rod but I think thats only because I never fish a Carolina rig much. Quote
bassin_man Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 What else can a guy fish on a weightless senko rod? Looking at possibly getting a 7'2" Cumara spinning rod that is a medium/ Extra Fast for weightless senko's and such. Quote
