Just getting into this aspect of bass fishing.  95% of the bass I caught last year were caught on tubes w/ 8lb sufix...so I could use some opinions on the best line for pitching. I like the thought of 30lb braid, but seems like bass would see it a mile away.

Just ordered a 7'H B&R Outlaw rod and I'm going to match it with my energy xm pt baitcaster for this application.  Might throw a few muskie bucktails as well.  But I'm looking forward to using the jig n pig this summer!       Thanks!

If the water is stained to muddy I go with 30lbs (or more) moss spider wire Stealth.  In clearer water it's 20lb Vanish Transition.  That is assuming I'm fishing heavy cover.

If it's light cover, like thin weeds,  then I'll go down to as low as 12 or 14lb Transition or 15 lbs YoZuri Hybrid.

I like to pitch with 50lb PowerPro or bigger.  The big thing that I go for with braid is to match the line diameter to the mono I would be using when I use it on a baitcaster.  On spinning reel I go withsmaller diameter, but with baitcasters too thin of line can lead to problems.

Clear or stained water I go with 30lb Spiderwire Ultra Cast, 99.9% of my pitching is in weeds or under docks. The bass don't seem to mind my line.

Stained is what most the the waters I'd be pitching in would be considered....I liked what I read about Spiderwire Ultracast, and Stealth would be a close second as far as reviews go.   I fish the Finger Lakes quite a bit, but thats where the 8lb sufix and 1/8oz tube shine!   Thanks for the help guys!
