Bassman2144 Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Every summer I end up replacing the line on my spinning reels 2 to 3 times because of line memory, my question is if fire line is better or what is another type of line that would be better? Quote
Pond Hopper Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 I will beat RW, and say that yozuri hybrid ultra soft #6 is a great spinning reel line. Not much memory, and stronger than normal 6 lb test. I tried it on BC gear and did not like it but it stays on my only spinning reel I have! Quote
HesterIsGod Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 Trilene fluorocarbon is great too. A little expensive but you get what you pay for Quote

ba7ss3in Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 fire line crystal 8lb is pretty good I think. Quote
Shadcranker Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 For mono, McCoy mean green is the best spinning line I've found. Quote

You didn't mention what kind of line you've been using, or what pound test or what size reel. You should not have had to do that if you were using a spinning-friendly line, i.e., low memory. Also, things work best when you use a relatively large diameter spool compared to line size. I currently use Power Pro on a few reels and it works very well. I used Fireline too, but that didn't cast as well as PP, but otherwise it was fine. By the way, if you weren't already aware, the superlines have little or no memory. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted March 1, 2008 Super User Posted March 1, 2008 I use PowerPro on ALL my spinning reels So what are you saying, that there's something else? Roger Quote
