i have a 6'9'' drop shot magnesium. Has a real nice backbone for a ML rod and a soft tip. No problems here except for the money your probably better off getting a carrot stick :(

I have the mag. jig and toad.  Casts well, sets hard, and turns the fish.  Only complaint is that the rear grip is solid cork, making the rod very tip heavy and balancing a tricky.

They've gotten very mixed reviews on this site.  This might have been to first generation reel seats and line guides.  I believe, not 100% here, that they're using fuji for both now.

try searching the site, there has been a lot of discussion on them.

I like their rods.  I have a pretty even mix of Magnesiums, Heliums, and Helium II's.  The Helium II's are my favorite to fish with and I recommend them highly.  8-)

I bought a helium II and i am not that impressed. it is a sensitive rod but it is very tip heavy. i have a 6'9 med-hvy spinning. I regret not getting a glx or trying out a carrot stick. live and learn i guess.

Well, allow me to take that tip heavy ship anchor off your hands if you don't like it.  ::(

Hey Jim, I have a chance to get a real good deal on a 7ft LTA heavy spinning reel. My question is how does the action compare to loomis or st.croix if you can compare or you have a kistler heavy action. I am looking for a rod just for drifting tubes on the bottom in the river and heavy action seems a little too much? Any help is great.   Also if it helps I am use to stcroix actions more than anything, avids, elites and tournys.

I got a couple LTA's. Love em'! I have had problems with the guide inserts coming out but I noticed a LTA at a bait shop the other day and it had a different type guides on it though they were still Forecast guides. Plus I called the company and complained and they sent me new guides about 3 days after I called, free.

I fish Kistler's. I like the LTA's the best although I haven't tried but a couple LTX's so far. I didn't like the Magnesium's....too much tip, not enough backbone.

Kistler Rods are great. The LTA rods are really light, and sensitive. The LTX 2 rods are the lightest, most sensitive rods I have ever used, or seen. Plus the rods have a great waranty, and great customer service to back them up. Give them a try you wont be sorry.

I don't think I can help you out much on comparing them to Loomis or St. Croix.  I don't fish either of those rods.  I do know that the newer version of LTA's have a faster tip than the older versions.  I would rate my heavy LTX's as being extra fast.  FiveBassLimit has fished both LTA's and Loomis's so he may chime in and give you a good comparison.  I have held GLX's and Avids and liked both.  If Loomis ever comes out with a GLX rod that doesn't have a foregrip, I will be the first in line. :(
