HillBilly Willie Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Looking to buy a low profile baitcaster, but don't want to spend more than about $80. I'm not a beginner to baitcasters, so it doesn't have to be a beginner reel. Another thing, I like my reels to be small so I can palm it. Any help appreciated. Thanks! Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted February 25, 2008 Super User Posted February 25, 2008 Team Daiwa Advantage 150H - Good reel for the money $60-$70 most places. Quote
Branuss04 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 BPS Tourney. I think around $50. Not a fan of BPS brand stuff, but threw this a couple times and felt real good. Quote
Jake P Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I know you said 80$ but if you could save 20$ more you could get an Abu Revo S. I think Shimano still has a rebate on their Citica that you could get for 90$. If you dont want to spend more than 80$ then heres something to look at. A few weeks ago some guys were talking about how good the Abu Garcia Promax was and its priced at 75$. Heres a link to the page. Good luck. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1200375275 Quote

I haven't seen one of those for sale in almost 6 months. If you're dead set on limiting yourself to $80, get a Garcia ProMax. If you can come up with $20 more, a Revo S. If you feel like waiting, a Citca 100DSV for $120 - the $30 rebate. Quote

Shadcranker Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I'd go used higher quality reel if you can find one. Look on EBay, find a good seller, and buy a higher end reel. Quote
