Ballpark Frank Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I am now going to start a Quantum reel and G.Loomis posse. Anytime a poster asks a question about any rod or reel that does not include Quantum or G.Loomis, I am going to recommend them. I will also insinuate that they are wasting their money if they don't purchase Quantum or G.Loomis, because all other gear is inferior to these. : Quote
The_Natural Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I dig it. I don't use Quantum, but I'm down with you sticking up for your brand. I own 90% Daiwa with a couple of Shimano's thrown in the mix, but it's all opinion. There are no facts on brand longevity other than anglers own experiences, and some have had great experiences with Quantum or Pfluegur. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 Good luck with that. : Quote
The_Natural Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Good luck with that. : Ok, so Burley's not known to sugar coat ;D Quote
Branuss04 Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Sounds like we are sure to have an all out posse war Quote

Super User Sam Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 Don't you mean Shimano and Loomis? Top of the line for reels and rods? And what about Kistlers? They are excellent. So maybe your posse should be Zebco and Loomis? Or Quantum and Ugly Stick? Just food for thought. Quote
DRat Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Shimano and G Loomis. All I have ,All I want. ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote
TeamBerettaGold Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Quantum/Loomis, Quantum/Carrots. Does it get any better? Nope! 8-) Quote
Super User Alpster Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 The G.Loomis posse has been around for quite a while, you can defile a nice rod with any Quantum reel you want. BTW- along with my Shimanos I have (and fish with) at least one Quantum, Pflueger and ABU. I keep them so I can pick on everyone. Ronnie Quote
Super User Micro Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 I've tried to join the Shimano posse a couple of times. But I can't seem to keep it going. I sold my green Curado BSF because it sucked. I sold my Cardiffs because they wouldn't cast. I gave away my Spirex because it was too heavy. And I just sold my Curado 200 DHSVs because they were too big. I can't find a Shimano I like as well as my Abus. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 Geez Micro, did you even fish those Curado's? Didn't have them long, did you? They are just too heavy. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 The G.Loomis posse is old hat, but a quantum posse??...I don't think so. I heard that even the sheriff bailed out (jk) Roger Quote
Ballpark Frank Posted February 23, 2008 Author Posted February 23, 2008 Guys, I am just trying to make a point. I like and have Abu Garcia, Quantum, Daiwa, Shimano, Plueger, Shakespeare, Berkley, Zebco, St.Croix, G.Loomis, BPS, and Browning gear. I am partial to a couple of these brands, but I do not try to shove them down people's throats. I like to try different brands and have been satisfied most of the time. One example is my Shimano Symetre that I love, but if someone asks about a Cardinal or Dimension, I am not going to suggest Symetre. It is so annoying on here to see a question that asks about specific gear that does not include Shimano, and then the posse shows up. They insinuate that if the person doesn't get Shimano, they are wasting their money. One post a little while back asked specifically about Abu Rounds and $80, within 15 minutes, a posse member had posted they should save their money and get a Calcutta. The posse has even suggested the Coriolis(one of the best paperweights that Shimano has even made) over the AG Max series. Now, if someone does not specify, heck yeah, say Shimano all the way. Understand that some people want to be able to purchase 2 good setups for a decent amount of money, not one reel that they may or may not be happy with. I know alot of you did not start out buying Shimano Curados and G.Loomis GLXs. You were just like me and others; you had a Zebco 33 combo, or Lightning Rod and AG 5000. And these served you well until you could afford better gear. The point is that whatever gear someone gets, a least it is getting them on the water and fishing. Which is why we are all here, right? Jake P Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Sounds like we are sure to have an all out posse war ABU GARCIA FOR LIFE! 8-) Quote

Ballpark Frank Posted February 23, 2008 Author Posted February 23, 2008 I might. I just gotta get a Chevy first , just trying to stir the pot to see who bit. Looks like I gotcha. I drive a 90 Volvo 240, that I am plenty happy with, so it might be a few years. I do have a 96 S-10 though. Quote
