franklinfishfinder Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Went to the Classic on Friday and at the Expo ran into vicious fishing line. i've heard of it before but what I saw it looked good. Does anyone use this stuff and if so is it any good? Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 24, 2008 Super User Posted February 24, 2008 The 12 lb. copoly I've been using doesn't like ice. :-/ Quote
The Next KVD Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I like Vicious. However, in my experience you need to superglue the knots otherswise they break easily. Good line other wise. Quote

The Next KVD Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 No it doesn't. Especially if u compare Vicious to Vanish. ;D But if you don't glue the knot it breaks easily. If you glue it its very strong. Quote
Just_Old_Fisherman Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Been using Vicious about a month and no problems. Use a Uni-knot and haven't needed the glue and no problems with knot breakage. Be sure and really wet the knot before cinching it down----critical with Fluoro lines. Quote
12Outlaw Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I just used some for the first time today. I have used Seagur invisx, Vanish, BPS excel mono, Trilene xl, Trilene xt, Trilene max, and Cajun Red Cast over the past two years. Here are my opinions. I have tried not to use flurocarbon but I like the sensitivity to much. Vanish was ok. Seagur was awesome but cost way to much money. I really liked Red Cast and BPS Excell mone. For the money I am hoping that Vicious will be my flurocarbon for now. I have a tournament this weekend so I'll let you know how it works. So far I like it. Quote

Super User grimlin Posted February 25, 2008 Super User Posted February 25, 2008 I hate the stuff...split like a banana midway down my line. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted February 25, 2008 Super User Posted February 25, 2008 I saw this stuff at an expo today, even the rep had a hard time with it. I was not impressed. Quote
Pond Hopper Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Was at an expo today working a booth, and talked to some of the Vicious/Outlaw guys and ended up using their fluoro for tying a few demo baits. Like Burley said if there is an issue of the fluoro and a knot, I would guess it to be the user. The copoly was what impressed me(a braid guy) and I may have to throw some on a trap reel as the only other non-braided line I use is some Yozuri Hybrid on my spinning rod. Quote

It was a booth for Vicious/Outlaw line and baits. They were trying out the new Gami Monster EWG 7/0 and knots were breaking. They then tried to setup a drop shot setup on lighter line. Both demos went bad. I felt sorry for the guys. They had lots of good info to share. Quote
