Boett43 Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Im in a debate wether to get the Abu Revo SX or the Quantum energy..can anyone throw in anything they have to say about these reels good or bad Quote
basspro96 Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Abu all the way I have a revo S and it casts like a dream Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 22, 2008 Super User Posted February 22, 2008 I have owned both, and really like both. I would have to go with Abu though because of the durability, while the PT lasted a while, the Torno's just keep going. Hopefully the Revo lasts as long. Quote
Jake. Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I love my Revo SX. It casts great and has an awesome drag. 8-) Quote
Super User Micro Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 I currently own 6 Revos (2 STX, 2 SX, 2 SC) and they are the best reels I've owned. I plan on adding 2 more to replace some Curados I just sold. Smooth, built exceptionally well, cast great. And if something does go wrong, Abu's customer service is outstanding. Quote
bassdocktor Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I can't speak for the Revo but the Energy is a very nice reel. I've been very please with mine. My dad has my oldest one. That one has to be close to 4 years old with no problems throwing nothing but big cranks. Quote
jrhennecke Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I have always used Abu reels. I have found that they are better put together and easier to maintain. Quote
strick9 Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I have several Quantum reels from the new Energy PT baitcaster to some pre PT version accurists. I love them all and have never had any issues with any of them. They cast as well as any other reels I've owned including my Shimano Curado. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 23, 2008 Super User Posted February 23, 2008 IMNSPO... Quantum = All flash, no substance Garcia = solid quality tackle Quote
HogHooker Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 abu garcia is the way to go, i've owned 3 of their reels for 7 years and they work fine, only needed 1 tune up cus i fell on it hard on the rocks. i own a 6500, 5500, 4600 C3's i also have 2 6500 C4's 1 max, and its awsome aswell. Quote
Ballpark Frank Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Man, I am surprised the Shimano posse hasn't responded here. It usually does no matter what reel you ask about, they have to say Curado or Citica. Quote
