Super User Catt Posted October 5, 2007 Super User Posted October 5, 2007 Who's tried them? Winter is one of my favorite times to fish but southeastern Texas weather can be nasty so one must be dressed right. So if y'all got one give my the 411 Quote
jbh3 Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 They work well. Get the one with the openings in the gasket. Nice to have when running in rain too. Quote
MattStrykul Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Up here on Gaston some guys wear full motorcycle helmets ;DThat thing looks nice though, and I can see how it would help. I say go for it Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 5, 2007 Author Super User Posted October 5, 2007 They have 4 models (flag & below) on sale for $55 Quote
TournyFish001 Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I have one and love it- kinda feels like you are wearing a helmet but dosent take up as much space when you don't need it- I keep mine in the boat at all times- nice thing to have for rain and or cold days. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted October 5, 2007 Super User Posted October 5, 2007 They have 4 models (flag & below) on sale for $55 This is the one I have and I cannot recommend them enough for cold and rainy days! Besides I like the looks on other peoples faces when they see me wearing it. Allen Quote
Super User Tin Posted October 6, 2007 Super User Posted October 6, 2007 Its a great investment and when you get caught up in a cold heavy rain you'll be happy they are in the boat. Quote
tritz18 Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Good idea but i already have a method its called my hand Quote
Super User 5bass Posted October 6, 2007 Super User Posted October 6, 2007 The first ones that came out had some fogging issues but the latest ones (like the ones you're looking at) dont have the fogging problems. I have a solid black one and its the shiznit when its raining. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted October 6, 2007 Super User Posted October 6, 2007 I have been wanting to get one of these but I would kind of feel silly since my boat only gets up to about 45 mph. Hard rain still hurts at 45 mph though. ;D Maybe I'll break down and buy one. Quote

They are also good when riding in someone elses' single console boat. Quote
LakeAnnaBasser Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 If you want you could save about 20 dollars and get a paintball mask... Quote
michbass Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Work great when its raining, pull up your hood and put the mask of and you keep dry. They are pretty comfortable also. The only issue I have is that no matter how hard I try I cant keep the lenses from getting scratched. It is hard to always but it back in the bag. Quote
wagn Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 it's already been stated, but a jt paintball mask with fogless lenses will cost you less and do the same thing. And you can just get them at most walmarts Quote
Super User Munkin Posted October 12, 2007 Super User Posted October 12, 2007 Catt, Who has them on sale right now? I am looking at getting another all black one for any passengers I may have. Allen Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted October 12, 2007 Super User Posted October 12, 2007 Great idea if you can afford them! The graphic model are $79. a piece though. A quality pair of skiing goggles goes for a bout $20. and works just fine. Neither will protect you in the rain unless you are wearing a quality rain suit, so rain should not be a deciding factor. And you can just get them at most walmarts I've used a paintball mask and the only problem I had was all the vent holes. It didn't help much when the temps got cold. I solved that problem with tape on the inside but when it got wet from the rain the tape came off. Quote
