I took my rod a local tackle shop to be repaired and this guy is taking forever. This is the last time I will use him anyway or buy tackle from him!!!!!He told me three different times to come to pick it up and its still not ready.Sorry I just had to vent.

The wrapping doesn't take very long (unless there is an exotic or complicated design involved)  Finish can take several days to cure hard enough to use.

The problem is that often you wait a long time before the works actually gets started.  But for him to say it's ready and then not deliver is frustrating.

24 hours unless the shop is in an unheated shed.

It can take some time for the glue to cure and the colder it is the longer it takes.

Maybe he lost it?

Like Flechero said... that's probably your problem. :-/

Or... maybe he's just really backed up? Did he tell you how long to expect when you took it in?

Man, why don't you just pick it up and take it somewhere else?

Still waiting. No, he didnt lose it, its sitting there in a corner.

Realy why are you just letting it go like that.

Your in NC and with that being the home state of some of the best custom builders in the country, I cannot imagine not being able to find someone that can cut that guide off and have it wrapped, and finished in about an hour, then all it would have to do is turn for 8 to 12 hrs to finish curing..

Pick the rod up and look in your local yellow pages for a custom builder, not a fishin tackle shop owner.

I agree with roadwarrior here.  Go to the store and get it.  Basically you are being DISRESPECTED no matter what way you look at it.  If your business isnt wanted then take it somplace it is.

Also once you do ask for your rod back, BE SURE to get it back that trip.Dont accept any offers or promises to have it done by "tomorrow".  What quality of work do you think you will get after threatening to take your business elsewhere.  he knows you will never come back again or give him a referreal anyways. So there is no incentive to do good work.
