Boett43 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Has anyone used this?? seems like a good idea, might have to pick some up depending on what i hear Quote
Super User David P Posted February 19, 2008 Super User Posted February 19, 2008 I have used it with great results, but not in ultra clear water. In clear water, it's pretty darn visible as it's white not clear. Quote
Boett43 Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 yeah i dont have much clear water around here soo thats not a problem...but how do you feel about the line its self not its transparency dose it feel like a cheap gimicky braid or you think its for real? Quote
Super User David P Posted February 20, 2008 Super User Posted February 20, 2008 I'm not a big braid guy, I've used power pro a few times and never really liked braid. I don't notice any difference in Power Pro vs Invisi-Braid from feeling both and having both on my desk right now. The one thing that bothered me was the noise it made going through the guides, but after 20-30 casts it stopped for the most part. I don't know about the heavier braid though, I only used the 10lb which is the 2lb diameter. So that's all I can speak about. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 20, 2008 Super User Posted February 20, 2008 I am testing the Spiderwire Invisi Braid in 30# now. I have it on spinning gear for wacky fishing. I am not sure I like it as the finish is so slick that after catching a bass, the next cast won't go very far because the line has dug into the spool. I have to pull off some line and reel it back on to make a decent cast. I have not had that problem with any other braid or fused line. Maybe with some use it will behave better, that remains to be seen. I do like it's above water visibility. Quote
GitRDoneIke23 Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 My experiences with Spiderwire have not been good. I don't think this kind will be any different. I stick with my Fireline and Stren Super Braid Quote

I stick with my Fireline and Stren Super Braid Compared to that Fireline Crystal stuff, this stuff is INCREDIBLE. I couldn't STAND fireline. Quote

But FIRELINE SMOKE is line you can swear by, not at! ..............same for Stren Superbraid. Quote
smallfry Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 My experiences with Spiderwire have not been good. I don't think this kind will be any different. I stick with my Fireline and Stren Super Braid I'd characterize Ultracast or Invisibraid as about halfway between fireline and stren superbraid. More body than the stren, but a little less than the fireline. I've found it very similar to stren microfuse. and I've switched almost all my baitcasters over to either ultracast or mircrofuse. I still use fireline on almost all my spinning gear. A buddy of mine felt the same way you do about spiderline products, even loved stren superbraid just like you. He'd sworn to never use spider products again, but he used one of my set ups with Ultracast (ie. invisibraid) and now he loves the stuff. FYI, I've used the fireline crystal and can't tell a difference in performance from the smoke. Just a color difference. Quote
