Just asking some advice on what to buy for a nice rod and reel combo at bass pro for just under 100.00. I do mainly bass and catfishing and started to really get in to fishing just last year. All Ive ever bought was Walmart Specials. I received a 100.00 Bass Pro Shop gift card and am looking to spend it wisely. I know its not a lot to some folks, but here in Arkansas where the money is tight, I do want to spend it right! Any suggestions. And thanks so much for your time.

Welcome aboard!

Whatever you do, DON'T buy anything that's not on sale! For around

$100 you ought to be able to purchase MSRP around $150-$175.

The BPS Spring Classic is just around the corner.

JUST BE CAREFUL < BPS has shown a habit of switching the rod and or reel with the combos, substituting a cheaper version. When you see what you want post it here, I am sure someone will help you check the item numbers for clarification

Hello and WELCOME! to the forums. I agree 100% on what RW says. Keep your eye on Basspro.com for sales. They always have combos with there extremes or bionic blades that are good. Good luck with whatever you buy!

Just a little update, I went with the Browning Aggressor Spinning Combo. BPS had it on clearance for $59.00, marked down from $79.00. I kind of took a little of everyone's advice and looked around till I found this one. Even had enough left over to buy a few lures, seen a couple of the Gents from the BPS forum talking bout the sexy shad, and some of the nitro crankbaits, and got a couple of those as well...so hopefully before long I can jump in with some nice pics like the rest of you. Thanks a million for the Welcomes and all the great advice. Have a great weekend from Arkansas.
