Super User Alpster Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 The other line was the Berkley Big Game here, I hve never heard or used it before Dom, Big Game is good line, if it's on a good sale, you should give it a try. I think you will like it. Nothing beats it for the money. JMHO Ronnie Quote
Super User FishTank Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 I stopped by WalMart to get bread and milk and I looked at their fishing stuff. Still no stuff on clearance by me. I'll keep trying. Quote

I had him scan a few items that had been mentioned in another thread and they were all regular price. The WalMart close to me sells some fishing stuff but not alot. For instance, some of the Rapalas on the shelf have the old style boxes and have a sticker on them that says new. Some of them have the old green WalMart price tags on them with the price marked out and a higher price marked on the hanger. I don't doubt anybody here. They just haven't marked anything down yet. I will keep trying. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 The WalMart that time forgot! ;D Quote

Guest muddy Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 It depends on the sporting goods manager, they run each store differently. They clear a lot of Bass stuff now by us, because they cater to the upcoming trout season opener and need shelf space, once the trout opener passes they discount the trout stuff and use the shelves and hangers for more Bass stuff. Been doin it for years, so if you know how they manage their areas you can figure out when to buy what you need and save some bucks! Quote

Give it to someone you don't like. The line is too thick, way too strong and far too stiff for bass fishing. The worst part, you cannot break it even when you want to (hang-ups). Quote
Mike-in-WV Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 For some crazy reason I'm not allowed to post links on here but Walmart has an on line sale on there 100 percent Fuoro for $12.00 marked down from $17.00. Mike Quote
Super User grimlin Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 I just checked mine yesterday...nothing's on sale. Quote
Mike-in-WV Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I just checked mine yesterday...nothing's on sale. gremlin, This sale is only on line. Not at the stores. I just checked with Cabelas and sure enough the same line is $17.99 there. Just go to Google and type in Fishing line at Walmart and it should give you a link right to it. Clearance sale for $12.00 .Hope this helps, Mike Quote

We get hung-up A LOT! Even with strong current and fishing from a big boat, he could not break the line. He ended up just throwing it away. Quote

cootertom Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 My local WalMart never runs that sale. The manager is a friend and I asked her and there would not be a sale. Its a small town and they don't carry much anyhow. Quote

It is too thick for backing. If you do choose to use it as such, watch out much you put on the spool or you'll quickly be out of room on the spool. Quote
Crowcommander Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Our Wally World has VANISH for $7 and is a bargain! Just hard to sneak over 4 or 5 in the wife's shopping cart if you know what I mean.Crowcommander Quote
