Regularly $180, now yours for just $179.99.  WOOT!  I'm buying three!

Come on now, a penny saved is a penny earned.... ;D ;D ;D ;D

I noticed, and posted, they did that with the Loomis rods just before new years. I'm pretty sure it was the crankbait and spinnerbait rods. They upped the prices to the "new" Loomis MSRP, then put them on sale for the old MSRP.  :)

I don't think I'll be shopping there any time soon if they're pulling this kind of garbage.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but BPS is quickly descending the slippery slope.  Their drive for expansion has killed the company.

I'm gonna buy 25, and then I'll have saved enough money to buy a piece of gum on the way out!!!

What a joke.

I always been a fan of BPS but what are they trying to accomplish here.  I don't get it.  Whomever is in charge of sales and marketing needs to wake up.  This sort of thing gets old quick.

You'd be surprised how many people see the word "sale" and buy. A lot of sales gimicks out there. The thing you really have to watch out on are stores or manufacturers "special" packaging.

I vote we split the gum! Then we can all be happy! I agree my last couple of trips to BPS have been disappointing. Nothing I want in stock. Etc...

I am happy to say a new local tackle shop has opened. Family run. Carry all brand reel names and for now Loomis and Shimano rods. Not bad. If you like something they will spool up reel you like on rod you like with 1/2 oz sinker and dare you to cast it into the taco bell next door 100 feet away. What more could you want!!!

Got to love those good local shops. I don't buy rods and reels from them, but I try to buy bait and tackle from them.

This is an example of why I do most of my shopping at a local shop. The owner and staff are knowledgeable(they fish the same waters as I) and don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. I can go in, have a cup of coffee and browse their stock without anyone bothering me. Oh yeah, if they have a sale, you actually save money.

what kind of bs is this? do They think thats funny? I saw AVIDS ON SALE! and got my keys and put my shoes on then i see that crap. d**n basspro!

Well,   I contacted BPS to see what was going on with the "sale".  I worked in inventory before and I think that something might have gone wrong when coding the new Avids in.  If you look at the description, these are for the new Avids.  I know that they had last year's Avids on sale a few weeks ago since I was close to picking one up.  But I cant find those anymore online at BPS.  These new ones use SCiv graphite.  But  here is what I heard from BPS.  Ill update again when they clarify for me.  But im thinking its some mixup with the old avid sale.

Ummm........NOT. The Avids do not share the same blank as the Legends. I suppose that's another BPS "typo" too????? I ordered from them once, and was not impressed, the more I look over their website, well, I'll just leave it right here.

I'm sure it is.  A $.01 discount?  Their software if probably programmed to list things on sale when it detects a lower price.  Still funny, though.

That's just beautiful, it's the same as saying, "I'm sorry you feel that way," which is something that really P's me off when I hear it.  I'd also be willing to make a bet that they don't contact you when they "have more information."

Welcome aboard!

I think the Avids on sale are the best deal going. I HIGHLY recommend them to everyone considering a rod in the $140-$170 pricing range. These rods were a great value at full-bore retail; on sale they are a steal!
