   I think I have the perfect answer to this question.  

  1)Pick a reputable reel maker such as shimano,garcia,diawa

  2)Stick with that reel maker

  3)However much money you have to spend believe in your heart that your chosen company makes the best reel at that and every other price point.

tkite has a good suggestion.

pretty much any reel in the $100 dollar range will be of equal quality. it all depends on what brand you like the most and all the nitty gritty features of each reel.

Revo S  ;D. Its all a matter of opinion personally i like the revo S but there is also the shimano citica and a few others that are well worth 100$.
