BassFishingMachine Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 How do your store your jigs, because Ive been keeping mine in a small plano without any dividers in it, just all bunched together, and Ive noticed a minor bit of rust. How do you store yours where they won't rust? Quote
TournyFish001 Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I put mine in a plano with the dividers- one jig per slot. I also use those inhibitor VCI chips that absorb moisture, worked really well for me this year. Just put a couple stips in each box and that will keep your hooks from rusting. Mind you, remove the already rusted hooks from your box they are pretty much a done deal Quote

I try not to put any lures back in the box wet...just a precaution i take. Quote
The_Natural Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I like the 'thin' 3700 for my carry jigs. I'm not sure of the model number, but it is thinner than a standard 3700, and works awesome for jigs. Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 I also keep all my jigs bunched together, organized more or less by color and type, and for me this works fine. As for your rust situation - I reserve a 3700 labeled "used" for all the wet lures I've used during the day, and when I get home after a day of fishing I'll lay them all out on a towel and let them dry before I put them back in with the rest of the lures, and I haven't had any problems with rust. Super User Catt Posted October 9, 2007 Super User Posted October 9, 2007 I leave mine in their original package until needed thus stopping rust Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted October 9, 2007 Super User Posted October 9, 2007 I carry so many jigs that I keep them in all kinds of containers. Some of them are just dumped into plastic boxes. I don't have rust problems. If you want to avoid rust: Never put a wet jig back (throw it on the deck until it is dry or throw it away), if it is rainy take several jigs out and put them on the deck instead of opening and closing a box, and never let any salt get into the container with the jigs. llPa1nll Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 My jig assortment is probably over 4lbs. I keep mine in a dble sided worm binder each bag is for a specific color and size. Quote
