Shadcranker Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Allstar, American Rodsmith, Diawa, "custom" wraps, etc left off. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted January 20, 2008 Super User Posted January 20, 2008 Mine are all customs except one. Built them myself. 7 are G. Loomis and 5 are Lamiglas. Love Loomis & Lamiglas. Ronnie Quote
Super User Micro Posted January 20, 2008 Super User Posted January 20, 2008 My favorite rod is a Fenwick. But if I ever bought something better, I'm willing to switch. But I really like my All Star American Classics. Great combination of sensitivity, strength, looks and price. Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I'd have to vote BPS. Extreme, Pro-Qualifier, Bionic Blade, Crankin' Stick, all great values when on sale...which is often. All Star is a close 2nd. Sorry, don't own anything high end to compare to. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted January 20, 2008 Super User Posted January 20, 2008 Right now my favorite "factory built" rods are Shimano Crucials. Great rod for the price in my opinion, and many models to choose from. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 20, 2008 Super User Posted January 20, 2008 My favorite was...........maybe still is Fenwick, but some new St Croix's, Kistler's and All Stars I bought might change that. Only problem is I have to wait a few more months to find out due to this crazy thing we have called "winter" here. Quote
bmadd Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I put my vote in for St. Croix...I'm close to swiping the card on a Dobyns though Quote
Super User FishTank Posted January 21, 2008 Super User Posted January 21, 2008 I have to go with Loomis as my favorite. The BCR803 has to be the funnest rod I own but the best value goes to the St. Croix Avid (last years clearanced ones ) Quote
Anglin Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I would have to go with St. Croix. Im itching to get one of those new legend tournament spinning rods 8-) Quote
The Next KVD Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 St. Croix w/ Falcon in a close 2nd. Quote
Redsyn Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 G loomis IMX series. That is just because I do not have the GLX yet. Even their saltwater rods are great. lightweight, strong backbone, and sensitive. Can't wait to get a custom made one someday. Quote
KYbass1276 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Well theres Loomis and then St Crox outside that I couldn't tell you cause these are all I use. Quote
Big T Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Of the rods I currently have. My overall favorite is my Shimano's. However for inshore Saltwater I have a Cape Fear that my wife uses and a Key Largo rod that I am partial to. For a cheaper rod I have two pistol grip Lightning Rods that I got on clearance that I can not wait to use this spring. T. Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 21, 2008 Super User Posted January 21, 2008 Just like my reels SHIMANO Quote
Hawgin Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 My experience has been that for the money I prefer Fenwick. I think they are as light and sensitive as any rod I've used, and when you factor in their price (even with the recent price increase) they are hard to beat. Quote
dave Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I have owned a number of different rods. I always come back to Castaway. I have friends that will handle more expensive rods, They inevitably pick up a Castaway and say, "I like this one." Quote
HUNTER19 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 LOOMIS ALL the way!!!! GLX's are amazing!!! Quote
