Got another carrot stix and this time i put a Revo SX on it. Man it looks awesome.

Question: How do you open the side plate on the SX? I can open the S with ease but I can't get it open on the SX.  I'm unscrewing the top screw on the other side of the reel.

I put the Revo S, SC, or Pro Max on mine.

Love the feel of it. Best feeling set up I have ever held.

Now go break it in! :D

Sweet Looking setup 8-)

As for the side plate after you unscrew it you turn it up, I know when I got mine it was tight and didn't open up easily but if you keep at it it will open up and now it opens up with no problem.

Thanks!

Yep, i think we both gotta have our carrot stix!  They feel great with a Revo SX on them. I have a Citica 100DSV on the other. They both work great but i wanted this one to be something to show off to everyone. I don't think you can get a better 300 dollar combo.

Here you go.  It will be a little tight.

Is the screw disengaged all the way, and are you turning the side plate the right way?  (I know that sounds basic, but gotta ask.)

Doing exactly what i do to my Revo S. I can create a little space between the sideplate and the main frame but it never gets big enough to put a credit card between the two.

I don't have an S and can only assume they open the same way.  Are you twisting the sideplate clockwise?

Try turning the brake all the way to the opposite setting.  I doubt that has anything to do with it, but you never know.  If there is something in it jamming it, that may dislodge it.

Hmmm.   The sideplate only turns about an 1/8th of a turn before you can lift it off.   Are you at its limit?  Have you ever had it off before?

Close it back up and jiggle it and see if anything is rattling in there.   Give the handle a few cranks.  Then try it again.

It's bizarre.  I mean it had to go on.  It's impossible to diassemble a Revo without first removing that side plate.  I don't think you can't even disassemble it from the other side because there is a screw (IIRC) on the inside of the frame under the spool on the handle side that has to be removed before the reel will break down completely.  Sounds like something may have broken.

How close are you able to get the sideplate into this position?

Dont mean to sound like a butthole, but why are you trying to take it apart?

I have two sx and dont have the urges to take it apart. If it aint broke dont mess with it. ;D
