airborne_angler Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I am debating on what color to purchase on my next order. Theres a few I like,But not sure if they are a surefire color. What colors of soft stick baits do you all use almost exclusively and why? Knowing this might help me to pick colors on my next purchase. Quote
mattm Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Where you ordering from? That way we can use there colors. Quote
bassman00012 Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I love the colors of watermelon and pumpkinseed. It seems that natural colors work best. I also like black and purple too. I always carry a bottle of chartruese SPIKE IT to dip the ends if I need to. Hope this helps. Quote
mattm Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Fished the most: 1)Watermelon Red 2)green pumpkin Good colors for almost any color water. Wouldn't hestitate to throw either in clear on muddy water. Fished a lot: black neon chart. tail, Favorite muddy water color. sour grape best in slightly stained water shimmer shad, nice all around color, but a little better in clearer water imo. black and blue. stained to muddy is best I think all the colors i've listed are great. There all on the dark end of the spectrum, but are very naturally colored. So they can be fished in almost any water. The only two colors I have fished that I didn't like are watermelon candy and watermelon chartruse laminate. I don't like anyones watermelon candy though. I've only tried the watermelon chartruse laminate twice. I ordered a hundred of these things b/c I liked the looks of the color so much. Going to stick with this color though b/c I still love the looks of it. Probably was just a bad day for fishing. If you see a color from *** you love I wouldn't hesitate to get it. I think any color will work, and if you like it your going to fish it with more confidence. Hope this helped. Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 12, 2007 Super User Posted August 12, 2007 What colors of soft stick baits do you all use almost exclusively and why? Watermelon, watermelon red flake, watermelon gold flake, watermelon red/green flake, watermelon green flake, chartreuse chartreuse/green flake, green pumpkin, green pumpkin red flake, orange green/black flake, firetiger, smoke pearl blue, red shad, watermelon/white laminate, watermelon/lime laminate, chartreuse shad, black/blue laminate, black/blue swirl, black blue flake, sweet potato, swirl baby bass, swirl caramel apple, swirl grasshopper, swirl watermelon chartreuse and a bunch of other whose names I don 't even know. Why ? oh well, I like them all purty colors , catch 3-4 fish with one color then switch to another color and so on. not sure if they are a surefire color There 's no such thing as a surefire color, choose the color you like and fish it with confidence, that 's the only surefire mechanism, confidence. Guest ncbass24 Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Green Pumpkin is a great color for most all water conditions. However, you can never go wrong with nothing special, non-flaked, plain old black. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted August 13, 2007 Super User Posted August 13, 2007 Watermelon w/ red flake Quote
Cajun1977 Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 ive noticed when the bass are hitting the stick baits (all the time) any color will do. i gotta ask do you fish anything other than stickbaits? Quote
airborne_angler Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 Normally I dont use anything BUT stickbaits,I threw a Baby Brush Hog a few times on my last outing and got a few bites, and caught one,so my confidence in that bait went up a little. Since my order will take a few days to get here,im gonna try tubes and the Brush Hog Tommorrow because the Bass seem to be Gorging themselves on Crawfish in the newly flooded shallows. Quote
Cajun1977 Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 the reason i asked is i thought you made a post a while back not wanting to fish stickbaits anymore(and it obviously hasnt happened) ;D ;D so i was just wondering if you threw other baits. you should try craw baits if you think senkos are addicting try paca craws or other similiar style baits, man when they are on the craw bite its a good un Quote
airborne_angler Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 I know I did say I wanted to try something different and well starting tomorrow I will (even if it kills me). I have no choice in the matter(no Trick Sticks),and have thought about it all weekend... I cant let not having my favorite bait from stopping me from going out. LBH said it best a few weeks ago, that even if you fish and get skunked, dont worry about it.Take in the scenery and the sounds of nature. Quote
bubbler Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 i ose mostly white because it imatates a shad or some bait fish. that is my favorite color. Quote
Zel Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 #1 Black #2 Watermelon w/red flake #3 Green Pumpkin Quote

detroit1 Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Although i have many colors that stay home, i now only bring Kanami's white/chartruese, or a white Senko in the 4-5" size, and T-rig them. Quote
