Do you guys change the hooks on the X-Raps?? I hear lots of people change the hooks on Rapalas as they aren't as sharp and rust easily. Is this the same for the hooks on the X-Rap? I am betting here that the newer X-Raps come with a better quality hook....

No way!

Those are some of the sharpest hooks I have ever seen on any lure.

OK Thanks!!

I just found them today. Had to drive an hour through heavy traffic to get one.  Hard to get them over here ;) It looks nice and I was able to pick up a few Pointers as well so that justifies the headaches from driving in the hard rain. I just can't wait 'til spring!!  ;D

Ive never had a problem with the X-Rap hooks, ive always had a good hookset ratio with the.

I think i might change the hooks on certain ones to bleeding hooks to increase visibility in stained water. Other than that you should be fine

Is VMC a brand of hooks?? I never noticed the X-Raps used them  ;)

If I told u that lucky craft use them would u believe me?

The X-rap is one of my favorite lures to fish for Peacocks with and i HAVE to change the hooks.  Even though VMC is quality, they bend easy or so it seems whenever you hook up with a ferocious S.Florida Peacock.  I replace them with the Eagle Claw Kahle hooks and they seem to stay straight longer.  I use these on my rat-l-traps too b/c those "stock" hooks are garbage.

Even at this size they are tackle busters.

Well I don't want to upset you guys but I do, I swap some of my X-raps with size 4 red Gamakatsu hooks on my raps and tie my own feather rear's.

They work good for St. Clair Smallies, Corey
