Bronzeback117 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Just curious what the most common place is. Quote
RiskKid. Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 In the past I've liked Tackle Warehouse or Cabelas the best. I recently met Brent Delo and really liked him so I am going to start using Delo's. Quote
Jake. Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Whichever one has the best deals at the time on the stuff I like. 8-) Quote

Super User MickD Posted January 15, 2008 Super User Posted January 15, 2008 Cabelas-Really a good company that stands behind their stuff, has customer reviews on a lot of their product, and they have a good credit card that allows me to accumulate Cabelas bucks (which allows me to get more good sporting goods in a sort of stealth fashion, if you know what I mean-out of sight of the spouse). Also, if you travel out of the country, their card has only the 1.5% Visa charge on converting other currencies-most cards have the 1.5 + a few % of their own. Jannsnetcraft.com- This is a company I have bought from since I was a kid. Lots of things you cannot find anywhere else + the usual stuff. They also are very good in standing behind their product, and they ship very quickly. If you need netmaking, net fixing, hooks, beads, swivels, molds, rodmaking stuff, they are very good. Quote
JKLOCK Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Tackle Warehouse for me as I like the free shipping on orders over $50.00. In addition, they are the most responsive of all the on-line stores I have tried, i.e., BassPro, Cabeles etc. SeniorBasser Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 16, 2008 Super User Posted January 16, 2008 Tackle Warehouse is second to none. They have the fastest shipping in the biz. Quote
ABC123 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 For the most part, I can't afford shipping when buying online. Some of these "retail" stores really stick it to you when it comes to shipping. I was going to place an order with BPS, but the shipping was 26% of the cost of the order. I bet the total order, including packaging, would have been less than a pound. I just wish I could find trailer keepers at tackle warehouse. Quote
surfer Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Don't forget to check Ebay as long as the seller has more than 100 sales and has 98% or better on his reviews. Quote

Pond Hopper Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Have used ***, delos, *, karu lures, brushy creek lures, and swampbaits. That pretty much covers everything I need for bass fishing. Have never had a problem with any of the above sites or stores either, BPS is the only one that use to give me fits...not anymore though : Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted January 16, 2008 Super User Posted January 16, 2008 Bass Pro but, they kill you shipping on small orders! > :( :-/ :'( :'( :'( But I found Delos and Tackle Warehouse now. ;D 8-) : :-* Quote
The_Natural Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Online....Tackle Warehouse, Peepers Baits, and Backwaters. Stores....Academy and Cabelas rule...period. It's all about the return policy. They will take anything back no matter what. If you aren't satisfied...they will take it back even if you have owned it a year (which is B.S. IMHO). Cabelas 'Bargain Cave' is a fine example of anglers abusing the return policy...you see rods in there that have apparently been used for a long period of time, and then returned. The same with reels. Academy and Cabelas are both this forgiving in their return policy. Just the Notion they will do this means they get my money. Quote
Guest muddy Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 On Line; Cabelas, Barlows In Person: Cabelas and Wal mart and a local mom and pop THE FOUR SEASONS, in Jim Thorp PA OH AND I CAN NOT FORGET: LOTS OF HONEST FELLAS AND GOOD DEALS RIGHT HERE ON THE FLEA MARKET: of special notice;G-Man,Cart-7,Pond Hopper and Hawgin!!!!! Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 17, 2008 Super User Posted January 17, 2008 Tackle Warehouse, Ebay, Cabelas, Anglers Arsenal and Bass Tackle Depot. I don't use BPS Online anymore. Their shipping is to expensive and they take forever to ship it to you compaired to the ones I already listed. At home I shop at Academy, and a local store R&L Tackle and when I'm close to a BPS I go in. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted January 17, 2008 Super User Posted January 17, 2008 I've used the following all with good results: 1) * -- has anyone heard of them? Hehe 2) Delo's 3) Hi's Tackle Box 4) *** 5) Barlow's Tackle 6) Hookerz Tackle Quote
Popeye Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Another consideration would be All Pro Fisher: http://estore.websitepros.com/1736384/StoreFront.bok I bought most of my new gear from them (best prices I could find and free shipping) and off Ebay. BTW: the fine folks at All Pro Fisher can get you almost anything you want even if it's not listed on their website/store. Just contact Carrie at: carrie@allprofisher.com and ask her about availability and price:o) Quote

BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted January 18, 2008 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted January 18, 2008 BPS only if I have a long list. Gambler for my soft plastic and bullet weights. Several great local mom and pops shops. I actually prefer to shop here even if it is more. Support your local tackle shop. They are there at 6am when you need them. Quote
Ballpark Frank Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 I rarely purchase anything online, the shipping usually cancels out the great deal you are getting. I have ordered from Cabela's a couple of times when the savings justified the shipping cost. I prefer to shop at my local tackle store, West End Outdoors(www.bassbuckandduck.com). They carry all of my favorites(Abu, G Loomis, Zoom, Reaction Innovations, etc.) and usually knock some off, if you shop there often. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 19, 2008 Super User Posted January 19, 2008 I'll repeat it, but Tackle Warehouse is second to none. Place an order Saturday night. Get the shipment email on Sunday afternoon. On the FedEx truck cross country Monday. On my porch today. FOR FREE. Had I ordered from Bass Pro, they would most likely still be sitting on the order.
