I am not going to say that the Falcon is not a better rod, but I would do find with only BPS crankin' sticks. Occassionally you can get them for about $30 on sale too. I use 6'6 in medium action for most applications. Quote

I can't cast shallow, light weight cranks with it. For those of you that have used the BPS M cranking stick, can it handle those lighter cranks ? I only want to carry one crankbait setup, so I really need a baitcasting setup that can handle a Mann's -1 to a Rapala DT-16 if there is such a rod out there. The reel is a Daiwa Team Advantage 153 HST spooled with 30 lb Sufix Braid and a 12 lb flouro leader. Quote

I plan on picking up a M and a MH, and then maybe a 7' MH that is rated for up to 1.5 oz. But, BPS does have last years model on sale for 22.50, I'm going to try to pick up at least two of them, and then save up for some reels. Quote

Super User cart7t Posted January 1, 2008 Super User Posted January 1, 2008 I have 3 crankin sticks, a 6 ft med and 2 6'6" med. Great rods for the money and great crankin sticks. As for the question on the small crankbait rod, I'd go with a M/L action crankin stick. Another rod you might consider is an All Star Classic 6' Med action model BCM-6. Great rod for tossing lighter baits. You can either get the latest All American Classic or look around for an older Classic. I don't think there's really any difference in the two other than blank color. BTW, never pay full retail for those Crankin sticks. Those things go on sale at least a couple times a year. Quote

MattStrykul Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 The only thing that is a little off with mine is that on an overhead cast the bait goes about 5 feet to the left on every cast, my Dad noticed it when he was casting it. I usually side arm em' anyways. It really is a great rod though. Quote

Sometimes you won't see the sale prices at the store, but if you ask for the internet sale price, they will give it to you no problem. Same with Cabelas. Quote

Though my local post office has been pretty disappointingly when it comes to how they ship/take care of their packages... If you haven't received a package that was broke or for that matter the box was ripped or torn (from usps) then ordering a rod from BPS won't be a problem Quote

The 7' had a soft tip, but was more stout further down the blank. The 6'6" bent like a noodle retreiving a Mann's 1-, I do not care for rods that feel that way. Quote

Maybe it because I'm younger and in shape. ;D I ordered my crankin stick the other night. It will be here really soon!!! ;D I did play around with it at BPS and it felt good!! When I saw the online price I didnt feel like going back to BPS so I just ordered it online. Quote
