Super User Raul Posted October 4, 2007 Super User Posted October 4, 2007 It 's been ages since I 've fished with one, hooks on the original suck, modifications ? none that I can think about. Most productive size/color ?.......... well, never caught much on it, maybe that 's why I don 't fish with them. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 4, 2007 Super User Posted October 4, 2007 I still throw lucky 13's that I have had since the 60's/70's, You can file the edges down on mouth (concaved area). Some 13's give more pop. There are times, not the fall, that it appears that a spit is better than a pop. I hope someone can help with what I'm trying to get across. Compare the lip of the bait to some other topwaters such as a spittnImage. By taking some of the edge of the lip, you don't get the loud noise, its more of a splashing sound. It spits. Bass bass and the Frog pattern in green with black spots and yellow rings have been good colors during fall for years. The 13 was my first topwater fish. Matt Quote
gatrboy53 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 back in the 60's i use to catch em on a white w/ red head.i think i still have it somewhere in an old tackle box.along w/ my creek chub darter,a hula popper,a musky jitterbug, and some other baits i dont remember the names of.i know some of them were heddon lures Quote
