Low_Budget_Hooker Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I was wondering if any others have favorite companies they deal with for extreme values. I'm looking for companies that provide great pricepoints and great customer service. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 28, 2007 Super User Posted September 28, 2007 David Green, The Reel Mechanic. David provides tons of free advice, schematics, referrals to other dealers and service centers. He rarely advises anyone to "send the reel to me" but rather, send it to someone! I appreciate his honesty and frankness, pricing specified up-front, and an unconditional warranty on his work. I'm not mechanically inclined and probably wouldn't know whether a job was "done right" or not. It's nice to deal with people you can trust. Bobby Uhrig, President Megastrike, Inc. When Bobby joined as a sponsor of BassResource.com he offered a free sample of one of his companies products to the first seventy-five guys to respond. After receiving about 175 replies, Mr. Uhrig decided to honor ALL requests! Pretty Cool in my book. Brad Coovert, JBC Outfitters Brad is a distibutor through his online tackle shop. He not only offers our Forum members discounts, he also has very special deals on selected products. His prices are fair, his service is prompt and delivery timely. I like doing business with companies that support BassResource.com. Quote

Super User fourbizz Posted September 28, 2007 Super User Posted September 28, 2007 3:16 Lure Company. Mattlures D&M Custom Baits Worminator lures. Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 28, 2007 Super User Posted September 28, 2007 I buy most of plastics from Gene Larew Lures which manufacture their baits using the finest soft-plastic injection molding equipment in the industry. That's why their baits are so consistent in shape and color, which isn't always the case with many soft baits on the market today. I can order a bulk pack of 100 worms for $22.84 and will usually receive 125 to 130 worms because they weigh the worms instead of counting them. That's 2 ½ to 3 single packs extra at a cost $3.85 per 10 pack Quote

Super User Crestliner2008 Posted September 29, 2007 Super User Posted September 29, 2007 First of all, for us fisherpersons, tackle is not all that we need great customer service with. For tackle though, I've been really impressed with Rodney Long and his service and advice on supplying his great "Wiggle Rigs" for drop shotting, TX rigging and even carolina rigging. His service is one of a kind, believe me (http://ezknot.com)! But now there's our boats! If you're talking about boating accessories, you cannot beat the "Stay N'Charge" battery charging system by Jim Payne (www.stayncharge.com). I've been useing this charging system for both my boat's batteries for 2 years now and truly love it! His customer service is unbelievable! I believe there is no better battery charging system on the market today and/or customer service for fishing boats. IMHO. Quote
Super User David P Posted September 29, 2007 Super User Posted September 29, 2007 MicroMunch - Craig (Earthworm from BR) is a great guy, and the jigs are incredible. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted September 29, 2007 Super User Posted September 29, 2007 http://www.joesjigtrailers.com/ Goes by Joe S here....Awesome plastics and trailers. My absolute favorite! Second is www.ghostbaits.com that G-man mentioned. For my jigs i go to www.pjlures.com or go to G-man himself for my skirtless ones. Quote
The_Natural Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Brent doesn't manufacture anything; he is a distributor. I like Micromunch's baits (their el gordo tube), Brian's Bee's, Gman's jigs (I need to order some), and a couple of others I can't think of. Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Brent doesn't manufacture anything; he is a distributor. You can say that about many tackle companies. About all some of them do is distribute their products. The baits are made in one place, the packaging in another and the assembly by yet another company. Why do all the work when you can have someone else do it, to your specs and for less money? As long as the products and customer service are good, then that is what matters. Brad Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 1, 2007 Author Posted October 1, 2007 This isn't a "debatable" thread, lol. I am looking for the names of companies that you guys use out of respect, in short. Companies, distributors, manufacturers, hand pourers, rod builders, reel repairers, they all work here. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted October 1, 2007 Super User Posted October 1, 2007 I buy most of plastics from Gene Larew Lures which manufacture their baits using the finest soft-plastic injection molding equipment in the industry. That's why their baits are so consistent in shape and color, which isn't always the case with many soft baits on the market today. I can order a bulk pack of 100 worms for $22.84 and will usually receive 125 to 130 worms because they weigh the worms instead of counting them. That's 2 ½ to 3 single packs extra at a cost $3.85 per 10 pack For the luck of their customers, they have crappy scales then. A good scale can weigh within . 1/1000 of a pound. My guess is they are just being generous which is completely admirable in todays market. Quote
The_Natural Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I was just educating...it wasn't derrogatory. I'd say most tackle sites/stores are distributors. I just purchased a website, and will be a distributor myself as well. I'm working on making a few products, but will carry others as well. I listed the small time manufacturers I like, and I'll add my favorite small time distributors, which are Backwaters (my fav) and susquanna (sp?). Quote
The_Natural Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 your no fun! hey, if you don't know about this one, your missing out. www.captainhookswarehouse.comb Wow! Thanks...that's why I hang out on message boards right there...those are some unreal prices on 'barbs. Quote
Davis Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Hookerz Tackle Yep they and *.com are my favorite so far. Waiting for a toad and big worm order from 152ndstreetbaits. Had problems getting my order out on time but is including a lot of extras for my wait. Let you know how there baits perform. Customer Service and communication have been good so far. Richard is his name. http://www.152ndstreetbaits.com/ Quote
Davis Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Finally received my order from 152streetbaits. The toads look great! The monster finesse worms are just crazy cool as well. Not sure how the heck I'm going to rig these big boys. Props to Richard for throwing in almost 10 extra toads (all different colors) and two extra monster worms for not being able to ship out my order right away. I would recommend him and his company even if they are not sponsors here. Can't wait to try out those toadsters. Quote
