Super User Bassn Blvd Posted January 5, 2008 Super User Posted January 5, 2008 My G-Loomis Mossy Back 7.5' M/H flipping stick arrived this morning. That's when WestPalmDude called to invite me to our local fishing store to pick some things up for our tournament tomorrow. I took the new rod with me to check out some reels and that's when I learned that WestPalmDude and the Bait Monkey are friends because they both double teamed me. I ACCIDENTLY ended up buying a Calcutta TE 100DC. Holly heck Batman, this thing is SWEEEEEET. I pity the fool who don't use Shimano. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 5, 2008 Super User Posted January 5, 2008 Beautiful, congrats. I salivate at the idea of one day owning a DC. I really want to put one on a Dobyns 684CB. But alas, no 101.....Shimano continues to believe that NOBODY retrieves with their left hand. > Quote
Super User Alpster Posted January 5, 2008 Super User Posted January 5, 2008 Oh Man! You are gonna love that DC. I have a TE200DC and it's righteous. Casts a feather into a stiff wind. Congrats! Ronnie Quote

Super User fourbizz Posted January 5, 2008 Super User Posted January 5, 2008 wait... you put a DC on a flippin stick?!?!? you're nuts! Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted January 5, 2008 Super User Posted January 5, 2008 Thought I would come and break this Shimano Posse gathering up a bit. You guys will hang out anywhere. Those DC's are indeed sweet reels. Calcutta would be one Shimano that I would like to have. I love smaller round reels. This one comes with power windows and heated seats. Quote

Holly heck Batman, this thing is SWEEEEEET. I pity the fool who don't use Shimano. I have to side with fourbizz. Why a DC reel on a flippin stick?IMPO that is over kill. Granted the reel is a nice reel and all, but that is a lot of b-ling for a system that your only hanging 15' of line from...Ohh unless it is doing double duty, and you intend to run some swimbaits on it.... Just a thought... Either way sounds like a great system, Enjoy! Tight Lines!!!! Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted January 5, 2008 Author Super User Posted January 5, 2008 I agree it's overkill for just flipping. I did not intend buying this reel for flipping or buying it at all. I was coaxed into buying it. The clerk put it in my hands and then everyone kept saying "wow, that's nice. Feels good doesn't it!" It was kinda like dangling Angelina Jolie naked infront of Avid and then putting her back on the shelf and not let him take her home. But no, it's not going to be my flipping reel. In fact, this thing is probably overkill for any type fishing but it is nice to spoil yourself every once in a while. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted January 5, 2008 Super User Posted January 5, 2008 Nice...Congrats... Quote

I disagree that it's overkill for everything. Get yourself a light glass crankin rod and strap that DC on it and you will see it works just fine for deep divers and light shallow runners. If I didn't have mine, I wouldn't fish cranks at all. JMHO. Ronnie Quote
