AbuGarcia Max pro edition, just arrived and i love it

AbuGarcia Revo

AbuGarcia EXT

AbuGarcia 5500C3

AbuGarcia 6500C3

I've used shimano, quantum, Diawa, and okuma, but nothin stands up to wear and tear like an abu, they are like a rock man, haven't been spooled on a fish yet, whether it be salmon, steelhead, bass, trout. And i haven't had to replace or repair any of my reels. love them all

Top 5

4 Shimano 50 Mgs

1-Calcutta TE200DC

I love them Mgs, I'm never afraid to cast to the smallest hole in the thickest cover. They are so smooth & reliable, they instill a lot of confidence. The Calcutta DC will cast a feather into a stiff wind. LOL

I'm glad someone listed the Abu Garcia EXT. I have 2 EXT Pros on 7' M/MF rods I use for crank baits. The Abu Garcia EXT Pro is the bomb-diggity for casting light lures. Man, it will way outcast my Revos. And the brake works better, too.

Nevertheless, my favorite reels are my Revo STX/SX/SCs followed very closey by my Curado 200 DHSVs.

My Ambassedeur C4s have a special place, though. I've had them for so long, and they've caught so many fish. They're smoother now then they were when they were new. I just can imagine not having some around.

Merry Christmas.

past to present

set of lew's ng's

set of chronarch 100a's

set of calais 100a's

that said, recently picked up a 50mg and it feels much better on the 783 than the calais.

2. Daiwa Steez 103 H

3. Daiwa Alphas Ito 103 A.I.

I will start off by saying that probably for the past 10 years I have been nothing but Shimano reels.  Don't get me wrong, they do make a very high quality product.  Probably about 8-10 months ago I purchased a few of the Revo STX's and have fallen in love with them.  I also recently purchased some of the SX's just to see what the difference was.  They are a truely amazing reel for $150!

I have a Calais, Metanium, Chronarch and two CTE200GT. I like them all. Oddly, my "favorite" is the CH50MG which I don't have! My next reel, the Shimano Core, will probably become my favorite.

the 50 MG is clearly my favorite.  I have several more expensive reels- but NONE I like better.  (I might have to edit this post later if I buy a Revo Premier today)  ...lol

Abu 6500C3 because i have hauled coho salmon up to 22lbs on it.

Abu 5500C3 because i landed steelhead, and all salmon species on it

Abu EXT because its the smoothest round design baitcaster out there

Abu Revo is just good, smooth, strong, reliable... and cheap

Abu Max casts a mile and a half, fast retrieve and can cast everylure in all my tackle boxes and vests with it. Salmon, steelhead, trout, bass every spinner, spoon, jig, worm, crank, spinnerbait, bla bla bla

I love all my abu's, Only reel i own that isn't an abu is my diawa spinning reel.

curado, curado, ect.  My goal this year is to throw other types of baitcaster's (brands) to see if I'm missing anything. I trew a $50 pinacle that my dad bought for himself this past year and I was kinda taken back, because it was pretty decent. But Ive heard a lot about diawa's and I'm itchin to buy one, just gotta pick out the rod
