I'm starting to upgrade rods and was wondering how big of a difference there is between the G3 and IMX

Is the IMX worth the extra $40-$50

I'm looking to use it for flipping and pitching so I'm looking at 7' H or MH

Most of the cover I fish is different types of grasses

I use the MBR844C for my pitching needs.  In my opinion, there is a big difference between the GL3 and the IMX.  The IMX is definitely worth the extra money.  The debate usually is if the GLX is worth the $100 over the IMX.

IMX is what seperates G.Loomis from the pack, this is where they started. I think the IMX series is DEFINITELY worth the premium.

YJsmitty,

For me, it depends on the rod that you are talking about.  For the rod you talking about I would go with th IMX or the GLX. If you are going to be using a lot of braid, I would go with the GLX.

Thanks for all the replys

I think I'll go with the IMX for the next question

I currently have and will still use my BPS extreme rod it is 7' MH (So i'm doing quite a upgrade)

So should I get the 843C (7' MH) or the 844C (7' H)

As I said before I mostly fish light grass using paca craws t-rig but i also fish jigs in brush

Last year I did use sufix braid but I might be trying a fluorocarbon line not sure yet

MBR844C is a stiffer stick which you will like much better for jigs and soft plastics.

Roadwarrior convinced me to get the 844C GLX and I've never looked back. My FAVORITE rod by far. Can be used for just about anything, although I use it just for jigs.

I was about to make the decision to buy the IMX (844C) but now G-loomis decided to jump their prices a little so what is the difference between the IMX 844C 7' H ($270) and the MossyBack 854 7'1" H ($235)

Remember I am a poor college boy and every buck counts but I do want the best I can buy
