Super User Tin Posted December 26, 2007 Super User Posted December 26, 2007 which do you prefer? a spinning combo or baitcaster combo?what are the sterenghts and weaknesses of both? and which , in your opinion, is the best Spinning: For finesse fishing and little baits/light line. So can present and work lighter baits better, imo. Casting: For heavy cover and heavier baits. So YOU are in control of a fish in heavy cover and you can work heavier baits. One is not better than the other imo. 8-) Quote
kms399 Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I would prefer spinning gear for skipping docks or finnese fishing I would prefer casting for everything else which is better it depends on your style. you cant skip docks with a casting setup and that is most of my fishing. if you usually throw cranks or fish in the slop casting would be better. best to have atleast one of each Quote
LakeAnnaBasser Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I use majority baitcasting just because I love the feel of them. I do have one spinning outfit that I use for dropshotting and skipping. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 26, 2007 Super User Posted December 26, 2007 Spinning tackle: Finesse fishing Baitcasting gear: Power fishing Quote
Guest muddy Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I like both, I use Baitcasting 90% of the time in the boat. I have 2 spinning rigs. One in the boat for throwing smaller baits and a two piece I keep behind my truck seat fro shore fishing ponds and stripping pits Quote
