I just purchased a cabelas tourney trail 7 ft. heavy power, fast action rod they had teamed with their tournament zx hs reel for 79.00. I also received a 10.00gift certificate for being one of first one hundred people in the store. This is my first heavy power rod. Does anyone have experience with either this rod or reel?? This will be my jigs, t-rigs, c-rigs rod.

I fished the Tournament ZX all last summer and loved the reel. I just got a chance to turn all my baitcasters to Pflueger Trions, my favorite so i cleand and lubed the zx the best i could and gave it to my friend bill, he's lovin it now! He caught a Steal Head on it already, upstate NY ;)

they are excellent buys for the money, both of them. I however really love Pflueger Trions and now have them on every rod I own 8-)

The combo does come with the high speed reel. I bought mine with a 7 ft. heavy power fast action rod. Also, got a 10.00 gift card for being one of the first 100 in the store that day. 69.00 for this combo seems to be a pretty good deal.

Thanks Muddy. I am new to fishing and, with two kids , just trying to stretch my fishing dollars as far as I can. I saw that combo on sale for 79.00 and thought that, even if the reel and rod lasted only a few years, that is a good value.
