fishing4fun Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Hi, What rod length and power do you guys prefer for shaky head fishing. I will be using 8lb seaguar florocarbon and a 1/8 oz shaky head. Thanks Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted December 21, 2007 Super User Posted December 21, 2007 I use a Loomis BCR 852. It is 7'1", medium powered, and rated from 1/8-3/8oz. I have a TD-Z 103ML mounted on it, spooled with 8lb. Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft. I usually throw 3/16oz Spot Removers. Quote
Lanier Buzz Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 I use a 6'6" ML Shimano Crucial with a Daiwa Tierra 2000. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted December 21, 2007 Super User Posted December 21, 2007 G Loomis Shaky Head rod (SHR822) with a Pflueger Supreme 8030MG hanging off of it spooled with 8# Trilene Fluorocarbon. Spare spool is spooled with same brand 6#. Quote
Infidel. Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 For 1/8oz shaky heads I use my DS rod which is a St. Croix LTBC69MLXF. For anything bigger I use a AVC68MXF. These are both casting rods, my spinning rod is a LTBS68MXF that I use with 8lb Invizx but I use it mainly for split shotting and sluggos. I just don't like fishing shaky heads on spinning tackle but I'm sure it would fit the bill. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted December 21, 2007 Super User Posted December 21, 2007 I use a G. Loomis DSR820S GLX dropshot rod with a Shimano Stella 1000FB reel and #6 Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft line. Ronnie Quote
