Hey MN Basser, why just 3 ? now if you told me I could only choose 3 rods then they would be: 1.- GLoomis IMX CR723 2.- GLoomis IMX CR721 3.- GLoomis IMX SJR722 Now the problem arises with which reels, with more than 20 BCs from where to choose plus another 10 Spinning reels I would really have some trubble choosing which reels would go. Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted December 17, 2007 Super User Posted December 17, 2007 If I am going with a buddy I usually just take 3 set ups. If I am going solo I usually take more like 6 or 7, but those extras are just pretty much duplicates of the first 3. 1. Shimano Scorpion 1000 Mg on a St Croix Legend Tournament 68MXF <----- This is combo I would pick if I could have just one. It can do it all, but I mainly use it for finesse baits. 2. Shimano Curado 100D on a soon to be Loomis IMX 844C 3. Team Daiwa Advantage 150P (5:1) on a St Croix Premier Crankbait rod Quote

Super User islandbass Posted December 18, 2007 Super User Posted December 18, 2007 It depends. During the week, I usually have my "trunk" rods for convenience and to minimize the prospect of having my one piece rods (true bass rods) from being stolen in the car. I usually have in the trunk during the week: 6'6" M Casting Shimano Clarus with Curado D, 12# Yozuri 6'6" MH Spinning Shimano Compre - Symetre 2500, 8# Fluroclear 7' UL Okuma Celilo spinning, Abu Garcia 101a Cardinal, 6# Trilene XL (All Two Piece by necessity and convenience) On the weekends, I break out my one piece rods: 7' ML Lamiglas Certified Pro Drop Shot Special Rod, size 20 Rapala 6Sxi spinning reel (Drop Shot/Finesse) 6'10 MH Shimano Crucial, Curado D (Jigs and Worms) 6'6" M Lamiglas Competitor, Curado BSF or Cardiff 301A (All arounder, cranks, jerk baits, senkos, etc. I am shorebound so I limit myself to 3-4 rigs and this homemade apparatus allows me to carry my rigs with one hand. Fish MD Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 1. Â It actually has dinner with me some nights. 2. Â Daiwa Steez 2500 with GLoomis GLX 6'8" Extra Fast Action Med-Hvy Power Jig and Worm Rod with 8 lb Berkley Gold Transition Fluorocarbon - Used for Weighted Tubes 3. Â Quantum Tour 6.3:1 with GLoomis 7' Fast Action Med/Light Action Crank Bait Rod with 10 lb Trilene XL Mono - Used for shallow Crank Baits and Top Waters 4. Â Same Exact as above but with 10lb Berklet RED Transition - For Deeper Cranks. 5. Â Quatum Tour 7.1:1 with GLoomis 6'9" Extra Fast Action Light Power Spinner Bait Rod with 10lb Berkley RED Transition - Used for Spinner Baits 6. Â Quantum Tour 6.3:1 with GLoomis GLX 7' Fast Action Medium Power Mag Bass Rod with 10 lb Berkley RED Transition - Used for Jigs These rigs may not be for everyone but they work for me pretty well. Â I did just order an E21 Carrott too but haven't gotten it yet. Â Not sure how much I'm going to like it I'm normally a Loomis kinda guy. Â Just to show how anal I can be I use the RED and GOLD transition but 8 lb is alwasy GOLD and 10 lb is alwasy RED. Â If I use a heavier pound test I would know what to do and my head would explode so I only use 8 and 10. Quote
