farmpond1 Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 This past weekend I bought a new Shimano baitcasting reel for a friend (his reel has been screaming and I got tired of hearing it). It was on sale for 56 bucks. Anyway, he will now have a better reel than I own. How wrong is that! Quote
maxke01 Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 lol why dont you buy yourself a better one it is nice of you to buy it for a friend though Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 18, 2007 Super User Posted December 18, 2007 Your unshelfishness will come back to you 100 times over. You did a good thing. Congrats. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted December 18, 2007 Super User Posted December 18, 2007 Just buy yourself a Revo and you'll be back on top! ;D Quote
Infidel. Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I end up in that situation with my girlfriend all the time But like Sam said, you did a good thing. Quote
ozark Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 At least you don't have to hear his old reel anymore. ;D Quote
farmpond1 Posted December 18, 2007 Author Posted December 18, 2007 What's really wrong about it is that he usually outfishes me, too. ;D Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Haha, I did the same thing for my brother earlier in the year cuz he was fishing with $40 combos from Dicks and they would just fall apart. The monkey got on my back and I ended up getting him a combo from Cabela's that at the time was better than any I owned. I kept asking him if I could make a couple casts with it, and he joked, "No, it's my rod!" ;D It definitely feels good to give though, and now, thanks to this site, come springtime I'll have some really sexy combos for myself Quote

Popeye Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Maybe you should have kept the new reel and given your buddy your old one?? In any instance, what you did WAS a VERY NICE thing and nice things happen to people who do nice things. Isn't that nice:o) Quote

But that would be tacky and not very generous. It doesn't matter anyway. It's just money and at the end of the day it isn't about how much money or how many toys we have. Besides, I'm already blessed. :) Quote
