Hey Fellas: I have been trying to work out this jig thing, and It is slowly starting to work for me.

What I would like to know is if any of you prefer to just the jig heads ( with the hooks in em) and just put on a like a brush hog, a fat grub or some other plastic and throw them that way? You know no skirts, no weed guards jus t lead,a hook and some piece of plastic

If you do can you suggest what style ( Football etc) you throw in which situation?

I sometimes use a grub with the jig head only.  Mostly I do it in the winter when vertical fishing.  I use a round head with no weed guard since I am not really casting it.  The rest of the time I have the skirt on the jig.

A few others and I,throw craws on a Spot Remover jighead.Works great! The Spot Remover allows you to fish it weedless. It serves me as a finesse type for a jig.

I like to use grubs on a plain ball head jig when fishing a clean bottom with few rocks.

If I am fishing a rip rap area, I like to use a football head jig.

When fishing weedy areas, I like a spot remover jighead.

You can use any plastic on a jighead.  Your only limited by your imagination.

Spot Remover all the way baby. I use it with either a Trick Worm or a Finesse worm. I did put an Ol' Monster on one a few months ago and had a great day.
