Black Bass Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 What St Croix Avid rod to you use for topwater. I'd like it for Hula Poppers, Jitterbugs, SPRO PRO Bronzeye Frogs and others. Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 5, 2007 Super User Posted December 5, 2007 For the treble baits liek the Hula Popper and Bug go for a rod with a medium action and fast tip or if you perfer a moderate. For the Kermits, go for the Heavy action. Buzzbaits or single hooked baits go to a medium heavy action. imo Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 5, 2007 Super User Posted December 5, 2007 The AC66MF, Fast Action with a soft tip. You will like this rod for jerkbaits, crankbaits, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits, too Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted December 5, 2007 Super User Posted December 5, 2007 The AC66MF, Fast Action with a soft tip. When I throw topwater, it's usually a Super Spook, and I really enjoyed throwing that on my AC66MF/Revo STX combo this year Quote
dbass Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 For my tops like Chug bugs, pop-r's, etc., I like my 5'6" MF pistol grip For my buzzbaits, etc., I use a 6' MHF straight grip Quote
