Jake P Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Bass Pro is running a sale on the BPS Extreme XPS trigger rods for $64.99 (originally 99$) I have 2 questions. Is there any certain reason they're running this sale? Has anyone here ever used one or know if they are quality rods? Thanks jake Quote
Super User Micro Posted December 3, 2007 Super User Posted December 3, 2007 They've been running that sale since the end of summer. Extremes are good rods. The reel seats are especially good. $65 is a great price. Quote
Jake. Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 I agree with Micro and Slomoe, the extreme series rods are good for the $$$. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted December 3, 2007 Super User Posted December 3, 2007 I used to own a couple I used for soft plastics. Very sensitive and well made. A little heavy but a good rod otherwise. Quote
Jake P Posted December 3, 2007 Author Posted December 3, 2007 Im gonna go get me one tomorrow mornin, thanks for the input guys. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 They offer that rod in a sale every year. Often it is paired w/ a reel for $99. I have owned 4 of these rods, great value for the money but once you use something lighter, it's tough to go backwards. Quote

Those rods are still on sale. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_58972_100002006_100000000_100002000_100-2-6 The BPS by me will match the internet prices. Quote
Super User Micro Posted December 4, 2007 Super User Posted December 4, 2007 Yeah, you have to go to the customer service desk and ask for the internet price. They'll give you a ticket to take to the check-out line. Quote
Big T Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I asked the BPS in Mytrle Beach to match the internet price on a rod once and they gave me this line of crap how if they did then they would have to charge shipping even though I was not having it shipped, Price would have been the same after that, made me mad so I did not buy anything, not even the hooks and lures I had in addition to the rod. Pencil Pusher Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I bought three reels at the Garland, TX BPS this summer that they price matched the internet sale price with no questions. If someone told me that I had to pay shipping, I would demand to speak to someone a little higher up the food chain. Quote
