fisherdave Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Has anyone ever used the bass proshop Bionic baitcaster or any of the bass proshop style baitcasters? What did you think? Quote
AJ Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I bought 4 for my wife when they first came out. They are pretty much just cheap junk. I'll stick with my shimano's. Quote
luckyinkentucky Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 If you want a BPS branded reel go with the Johnny Morris Elite series unless it's for a kid. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted December 2, 2007 Super User Posted December 2, 2007 i have 2 bps rick clunns.they are great reels. Quote
sal669 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I have one BPS Extreme, use it for 2 seasons. Works good so far, but I havent used it a lot ( I kind of prefer to use my Daiwas) A decent baitcaster starts @ about $100; anything a lot cheaper (unless it's a sale/clearance) it's no worth spending your money on it. Just my $.02 Quote
ABC123 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I have the Bionic Plus. I bought it marked down to $50. It's a $50 reel. I bought it to get back into baitcasters. I didn't want to spend $200 and find I didn't want to use baitcasters again. The function of the reel is pretty good. It is built with low cost components though. If you a looking to use it often, I would say look at something better. If you are looking at a reel for a specific technique rod, that you won't be using a lot, the reel is probably as good as any other reel in that price range. Quote
