Super User Micro Posted December 2, 2007 Super User Posted December 2, 2007 I saw these photos on another site. Recoil Guides grooved by braided line. I thought they were interesting. I've got one rod with recoil guides. I use Yo-Zuri hybrid with it. I guess using braid isn't such a good idea. http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p162/DRinVA/recoil2.jpg http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p162/DRinVA/recoil3.jpg Quote
ABC123 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I have spiral guides on my BSR803-GLX rod. They don't look quite like those, though. I've only used braided line with the rod since I got it, and haven't had a problem with the guides, yet. Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted December 2, 2007 Super User Posted December 2, 2007 whoa!! THAT is interesting. Not really surprising to me but very interesting. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted December 2, 2007 Super User Posted December 2, 2007 i always thought that those recoil guides looked cheesy and i was suprised to see a big name company like g. loomis using them. that is what the guides on my ugly stik look like after using braid on them. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted December 2, 2007 Super User Posted December 2, 2007 I have a Loomis BCR803 with recoil guides and they don't look anything like those. As far as the braid goes, I have used it with this rod, caught some big fish and they look good as new. Quote
