JigNBig Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I have a Carrot Stick LTX. (Casting) I was going to put a SOL on it to make to match but after I got to thinking I'm considering putting a Shimano Chronarch Super Free 50MG on it. It's amazingly light and has the Super Free technology that I like. What do yall say to that? Go for the lighter, better reel (Shimano, obviously) or the prettier SOL? Quote
skillet Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 If that's the only critera, better is better than prettier... As Ever, skillet BTW Have not always followed my own advice on this one :-[ Quote

Well now, your just out to open up a big can of worms. ;D If your looking at the Shimano Chronarch mg, maybe check out the Zebco 202. They are about the same weight. Ok, maybe that was a little low. I do really like them, I came very close to buying one. All kidding aside, if your still on the fence, make sure you check out the JDM Daiwa Alphas 103 and type-F too. They are about the same price, and the 103 has a killer paint job. Sol, Chronarch mg, Alphas, I don't think you would be disappointed with any of them. They all look to be fine reels. You could alway's put small pictures of them on the wall and throw darts until you hit one, and that becomes the one you buy. Quote
JigNBig Posted November 24, 2007 Author Posted November 24, 2007 haha well I haven't had great luck w/ Dawia but it was a lower end reel. I know Shimano is good from top to bottom, I have from a Chronarch all the way down. As for the rod, okay all I gotta say is WAR d**n EAGLE. Quote
michbass Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 If you like orange you could always go with a pixy. Very light and cast a mile. Not sure if you want to venture into JDM though. Cant go wrong with any of the choices though. Quote
JigNBig Posted November 25, 2007 Author Posted November 25, 2007 Nope not looking to get into the japanese stuff unless its lures or something. I wanna stick to something i know. Quote
