Uh oh. LoL.

You should try to be more specific. Like what are you going to use it for.

I'd take a Shimano Curado over a Revo any day ::o

Darren,

Just about everyone on here has a "favorite." Check out Daiwa, Pflueger, Abu Garcia, Quantum, Okuma, Penn, BPS & Cabela house brands and any other reels that come to mind...

Then buy a Shimano Curado!    ::o

8-)

And if you like righties, Delo 's Custom Tackle bargain of $165 plus free shipping for a Curado 100D is hard to resist.

My thoughts exactly slomoe, I know where this is going.

Edit to add: You might want to take Raul up on his suggestion, that reel would be hard to beat for the price.

Having viewed this kind of question on this site many times it appears to me that the Shimano Curado would be the most mentioned favorite casting reel-sounds like a "can't go wrong" kind of decision.

Check out this site:  http://stores.ebay.com/All-Pro-Fisher_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm

I've bought reels from this Ebay store before and this is a very reliable outfit.

He has "buy it now" Curados for $170+ $5 shipping.

am plannning on purchasing a new baitcaster. Trying to stay under 200$..Whats the best reel out there for the money??? thanks darren

If you have a Sportsmans warehouse near by, they have or maybe had, the Daiwa Sol and Fuego on sale. Darn good value at the sale price they had on them. They had others, like the Pflueger President, on sale too. Otherwise, pick out a couple reels, and ask specific questions about them. It's not likely the thread is going to turn into much as is. Most of the guy's have debated who's the best so much their fingers hurt from all the typing.

Well, I just received my new Pflueger Patriarch from All Pro Fisher ($180 w/free shipping)and it is awesome! I have purchased 5 reels (Daiwa Zillion & Pflueger Patriarch BCs, Pflueger Supreme, President, and Trion spinning) and 5 rods (Daiwa T&L BC & 4 Fenwick spinning) from All Pro Fisher in the last few weeks. Great prices and unbeatable service via email and phonecons from Carrie Untch!! I'd highly recommend contacting them for great deals on any equipment that you might decide to buy. I do a LOT of price and item review research on the net before I buy anything from anyone. The Patriarch is Pflueger's new "top of the line" baitcaster and cost me $48.00 more than the President (which I had bought and had delivered and then Carrie found out that they were getting 2 of the Patriarchs in unexpectedly and she let me send the President back and pay the difference between the reels and sent me the Patriarch - now that's service as far as I'm concerned:o) and I think it is worth every penny of the difference. The Daiwa Zillion is also a great reel, but costs about $30.00 more than your $200 limit(??). So far I have been very impressed with the quality and value of ALL my Pflueger reels. Just my opinion. Good luck with whatever you decide to get!!
