ghost Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I use a double uni knot to connect mono backing to braid. I want to use the braid & connect a floro leader using the same type of knot connection. I want to know when that knot runs through Fuji rod guides, will it cut into the guides running through the last 3-4 guides...eventually??? Do you lose some distance since there is friction of the knot running through the guides? Would using steel rod guides like on some Berkley/Fenwick rods be better for knot connection to run though versus Fuji guides? Is there a chance that while knot connection is running through the a lure is casted, that the knot connection will "catch" on a guide & lose distance or screw up the guide? Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted November 22, 2007 Super User Posted November 22, 2007 Avid suggested this knot. I like it. http://www.stripersonline.com/Pages/Articles/article_arby_albertos_knot.shtml Quote

Tokyo Tony Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I've never had a problem with flouro to braid using the double uni knot, but make sure you only wrap the flouro 4 times and the braid 8 times. this makes a very effective and small knot that will glide through your guides. Quote
